Another update: I've not been able to make heads or tails of anything, but I've re-installed CCC 11.6 and CAP1 11.6 (yeah, the version numbering is kind of messy, blame ATI/AMD).

No light source bleeding issues, but unless I enable Ubersampling, targetting doesn't work on endregas and, presumably, other "large" foes. I don't know how to fix this.

At least I have tolerable performances and no lighting woes. It's not perfect, but for now, it's playable.

Hm. You can probably try editing User.ini under My Documents > Witcher 2 > Config

Change this line: "UberSampling=2" to "UberSampling=1"

I'm not sure if this works but no harm giving it a try?
Single HD4850. Targetting doesn't work on most foes since chapter 2, unless I enable Ubersampling. Tried a lot of different stuff to no avail... I think it's a driver issue, but i dunno. Plus, Usampling = 1 doesn't solve it.

I'll downgrade the driver I guess, and post the results.

Apparently either a game or driver issue.

Reverted back to 11.5 + 11.6 CAP2... Success, back to normal... Driver issue, try it.

However, 11.5 give me a bit of a worse performance, especially in the stuttering department, which is s***, still... it works. *Sigh* must wait for a new driver i guess.

TightByte: (dual Radeon HD 6970s in Crossfire)

I'm still on 11.6 driver and I've got 11.6 CAP2. Nothing changed. Nice performance, absence of light orbs, but I can't target endregas and similar sized creatures. Humans, drowners and nekkers are okay. The only way to fix this is to turn on Ubersampling (by which I mean, to set it to 2 -- I tried hand-editing the User.ini file and changed it to 1, but it didn't change anything.)

So, it's absolutely playable, if you can get over not seeing which endrega (or similar) you've got targeted. But you kind of get used to seeing what's target when fighting other things, so ... yeah, it definitely doesn't feel very polished.
Problem is, monsters get generally bigger later on in the game... Plus, if if you unlock features which make use of the targetting reticle (Riposte, etc.) they're pretty much unusable.
11.5 still gives me nice frames (maybe just an unnoticeable bit less in certain areas), and the game is almost maxed out with AA, SSAO, and Cinematic DoF... But the thing is, I managed to get rid of almost all the micro-stuttering in 11.6.

With 11.5 it has returned, it's only in a some areas but it's noticeable enough. The game however, is pretty playable, and i can't complain especially since it runs fine with a big ammount of eye candy on my outdated system.
