Just to make this a bit more visible than in the middle of another thread.

The patch has been released and can be downloaded by either starting the game launcher (with admin privileges for successful auto-installation!) or via direct download here:
http://www.en.thewitcher.com/the-witcher/2/
Steam-users have to acquire the patch via Steam's patching automatic.

Changelog here:
http://www.en.thewitcher.com/patch1-2/

Troubleshooting:
If you installed and activated TW2, thereby installing the day zero patch, but did not install Patch 1.1, auto-patching to 1.2 will not work. To update the game to its latest version, you must manually download and install Patch 1.1 (following the instructions) first, found here:
http://en.thewitcher.com/patch/

If you downloaded the patch via the game launcher but the installation does not start (install icon showing up, but nothing happens), you can start the installation manually from the directory C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads by using the Patcher_1.2.exe. Make sure the game launcher isn't running, when starting the .exe-file.

unconfirmed: It seems that 'unsuccessful' installation of the patch (e.g. running the patcher_1.2.exe while the launcher is running) may cause further trouble (like performance issues) even after a successful further attempt of patching. Re-installing the game may solve that.

OMG, you did it first. I was just going to post it :P
Still didn't fix the game for 16:10 resolutions??? Come on!!!!
I assume for those of us with the GOG version we get it from their website as before?

edit: no 1.2 file up on the GOG website yet.

It has been announced for a long time that this is not going to happen before late june (earliest!).
It's quite a complex problem, because they have to adjust the UI and make sure no crucial part of the picture is lost - for 16:10 as well as 5:4 and 4:3. It just takes a lot of time and testing.

I'm not sure, but I think that isn't neccessary. 1.1 made all versions of the game the exact same. So auto-patch/download from thewitcher.com should work just fine. No guarantee though. ;)

My launcher asked me to download 1.2, I clicked yes and it goes at 15KB/s. Someone is really joking... Upgrade those damned servers!

The game menu now loads at a markedly accelerated pace.
My God I'm glad they fixed this - that was starting to drive me a bit nuts.

Bit sad about the lack of widescreen fix though :(

The download for CDPr's site works.

I also didn't get the install icon out of my launcher until I downloaded it directly, for what it's worth.

16:10 resolutions should have been included with the retail release. It should be a top priority. Funny how when you run the game at 720p resolution the game runs on the entire screen. What resolution do 360 games run at? Oh yeah 720p.

There is no exuse why it isn't available yet. BTW link to where they said late june?

Let me know if the little blue "ready to install" icon ever goes away.
I cannot install automatic downloaded patch 1.2 in GoG version ...
The error message "Installed game version is invalid or incomplete".
Is patch 1.2 of GoG different?

No link available, sorry. It was in the mess of comments in the thewitcher.com community-section, confirmed by Michał Kiciński. And I think they mentioned it during the conference yesterday as well.
And 16:10 isn't that big a deal. You had those small black bars with Assassin's Creed as well, if I remember correctly. I really pity those with 4:3/5:4 screens, as they lose a lot of screen space.
I wonder if Geralt's hair can be changed to his original style from TW1 with this new DLC.
