Hello i just read that The Witcher 2 won't have cards to collect , i know a lot of people will be happy with this , but what will happen with the funny erotic content will they cut it out too?, i mean like to flirt with anyone (with cheesy dialogue lol) and the unique npcs like Lady of the Lake and Morenn. Will they cut the erotic fun? anyone have an idea o.O

Indeed on that interview they say they was going to change the girl in the intro for a full dressed one. Is this true?

Here is the interview just in case , is very old:

And please excuse my english :)
The sexual encounters are still in, even as reward (except in the Australian version), but the cards are gone. I personally think that's better since it made the experience feel less romantic and more "gotta catch um all".
There cards are gone, but there will be sexual content. However due to the plot I'm guessing it won't be as casual as it was before, as there is an option to develop your relationship with Triss... And let me tell you if you google Triss now, you'll get some NSFW pics! Most of which taken from the game. There probably will be other "schtoinkable" characters as well.

As for the dungeon-breasts I've heard that some developers were a bit unsure if it wasn't abit crossing the line. The lady was held against her will and tortured, so adding sexual degradation to that is going into some pretty dark territory. So with some negative reactions from playtesters they've decided to keep the sex consensual.

And be sure - there will be sex. One of the way TW2 was promoted in Poland was with a "photo shoot" and interview with Triss Merigold... in Playboy! She's even on the cover :D Sadly, she's not miss May :(

Haha pokemon :p yes lots of people didn't like the whole card collecting stuff i understand this, but i like to collect stuff and that was the only thing i could collect on The Witcher 1 hehe, wich kind of rewards will we get any idea? or any other collectible doesn't need to be erotic , i am happy collecting anything :) . One thing i believe is better is the erotic scenes won't be just the same red flash we got on The Witcher 1. It worries me if they made Geralt a prude man with eyes only for Trish :I

She must be miss May! D: , this is what scares me i don't wish to see Geralt all prude only loving Triss , that is not the Geralt i know :( lol. One of the things i enjoy about the game is how Geralt is crazy about any women is fun a lot. Oh well =....( bye old Geralt and welcome Saint Geralt lol

Nah, I doubt it. TW was always about choice, so I believe this won't be different. Also "crazy" isn't how I'd personally describe Geralt's attitude; he was casual, direct and definitely confident. This is what made him so convincingly attractive, some girls just love a confident cool bastard!

I think the collection edt. was more suitable for my manly instincts than the romantic stuff though. There is a particular study that covers this instinct. The collectors instinct amongst men.

On several thousand subjects in San Fransisco, USA, researchers discovered severe differences in the preferences of male and female homosexuals. The study used homosexuals as opposed to heterosexuals because the amount of sexpartners on both sexes would be influenced by the other sex. By looking at same sex intimacy, one could determine wich was the deciding factor.

While the male homosexuals in general had very high numbers in their "black books", abut one in three have had over a 1000 partners in their lifetime. For the female counterpart the numbers are severely diminished. None female homosexuals had gone above a thousand partners. And just a handfull had even gone beyond the number 100.

The explanation for this is rather simple. While one could believe in religion and such, let us look to evolution for this one. Those women who remained faithful to their husbands, remained protected while raising children. So the genes those faithful women carried where the most reproduced. The males on the other hand was the exact opposite. Those who reproduced with the most women, got the most offspring. Snd such, we got bred over time to become sexisistic beasts with our minds focused on a single purpose.

Conquering concubines.

Allthough we have long ago been able to supress these instincts, i believe they lie dormant in many of us. Atleast i enjoyed the sexcards alot. "Gotta collect em all!" ^^

this is what it says on the ERSB website

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Platform: Windows PC

Rating: Mature

Content descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs

Rating summary:

This is a role-playing game in which players assume the role of Geralt, a monster slayer who must hunt down an assassin to clear his own name. As players complete quests, they use swords and magic spells to kill enemy soldiers and fantastical creatures (e.g., specters, harpies, spider-like monsters) in melee-style combat; attacks are often accompanied by slashing sounds and screams of pain. Blood-splatter effects occur when enemies are hit, and damage sometimes results in dismemberment or decapitation—blood stains and body parts occasionally appear in the environment. Other cutscenes depict gore and more intense acts of violence: a close-up view of a severed head; a restrained woman's eyes getting gouged out (off-screen); a character being castrated (not depicted) before his throat is slit. During the course of the game, some female characters are depicted topless; there is also a fleeting image of pubic hair as a woman dives into the water. Players can initiate brief cutscene sequences that depict varying degrees of sexual activity: a topless woman rocking on top of man; a man caressing a woman's back; a man pushing up against a woman's posterior—sexual moaning sounds can be heard, though the camera cuts away from explicit sexual acts. Some sequences depict a cocaine-like substance being cut into lines; another scene shows a man's back as he snorts the substance. Language such as 'f**k,' 'sh*t,' and 'c*nt' can be heard in the dialogue.

Be whoever you are, as long as you're happy and don't hurt anyone :-)

To me a more detailed relationship might be more interesting plot-wise. To be honest, the romances in the first game were a bit unconvincing, as the relationship development seemed to be something out of a Japanese dating sim. Which is still much much better than how other cRPGs on the market handle romantic interests, mind you!

But consider the Witcher. He's painfully aware he's an outcast, his life is very dangerous, and he seems not to be able to escape his destiny. Yet he has normal human feelings and longings, but at the same time he's aware of the problem: anyone he might love could easily be hurt because of what he is, and as he's a mutant he will watch that person wither away and die someday, while staying strong and lively. There's no hope for a normal relationship there.

And then you have Merigold - once a naive girl, now hardened by experience. Not a stranger to intrigue and manipulation, yet under the guise of a cold scheming sorceress, somewhere deep there's still that girl who was in love with Geralt while he loved another (Yeneffer). Somewhere there might also be a longing to find someone with whom she might just be herself without pretending or lying, keeping anything... And Geralt's strong morals and will always appealed to her.

Add to that the fact, that they're both sterile, so any amount of fornication won't cause an "accidental" cause for building a family... We have a wonderful potential for a complex, dynamic, dramatic relationship, spiced up with adventure, magic, danger and hot computer sex.

Count me in!

MY BRAIN IS FULL OF FUCK
Well in the first game geralt was a man whore, i see no reason to change anything at all at this point in my game.
In place of cards we get doggy style. I'm not complaining. :)

That's not true he never charged for sex. He was certainly a satyriasis though.
I enjoy some naughty content here and there. I loved Duke Nukem 3D for its redlight zone (especially as a 15 year old) and I enjoyed the erotic tints in The Witcher.

I like Gerald as a stud who women fall for - he can't have kids, so he's a safe choice in times where you'd think condoms don't exist yet. Some say it puts women in a bad light but, put a guy like that in any club and you'll find women flocking to him so IS IT putting them in a bad light? Or are people just uncomfortable with the reality that good looks and attitude gets girls interested?

I didn't see any weak woman that Gerald "abuses" - some had to be nudged just a little but most suggested the act themselves so how this is sexist is beyond me. In fact, The Witcher has some of the strongest range of female characters of any RPG I can recall.
First mention of condom-like contraception devices in the West would be arround the XVIth century. Considering that in some areas of TW universe science is more advanced and magick plays some part I bet there are valid and sure contraception methods, but they'd be too expensive for an average person - maybe nobility could afford them.

Anyway with with child mortality high contraception was seldom thought of before the XIXth century.
Anyone Interested in fighting censorship of female breasts will be delighted to know: The duchesses breasts are still bare in the interrogation scene.
