I'd just download an uncensored version and be done with it! It's a mature game after all and I'm past 40yrs old, who fought dictatorship and real censorship in my own country not so long ago. Screw false moralists who let us decapitate an enemy but not sleep with Triss?
The Witcher (first game) in NZ it was also censored. NZ gets caught up because there is one distributor for these games for the Australian/New Zealand market. It's not fair, but that's the way it is. Neither GOG nor the developers have any control over this.

The developers gave us all a patch then and I believe they will with TW2 as well.

If anyone already has the AU version downloaded - don't sweat it. All that's missing is a minor scene. If you haven't already downloaded and you are planning a trip overseas just change the region in your profile when you arrive at your destination. As long as you pay after you change to that destination - and as long as its outside of AU/NZ - you will get the uncut version ;)

Either way, its going to be a great game!
I HOPE you guys are not going to get CDPR into trouble buy changing your country to download the uncensored version.

No Sir! I know nobody who would commit such a despicable act of deception, nor suggest it to anyone else! There's nothing to see here, really. These are not the droids you're looking for.

Of course nobody would dream of doing that! New Zealanders couldn't get anyone into trouble anyway - the uncensored version is perfectly legal in NZ. The original Witcher, uncensored, is too. After the initial release some stores imported the uncensored version. No problems, no how, for no one.

I feel your pain.

Rumour has it that the retail version of witcher 2 in Singapore is also the Australian version...

Just because we're a small country doesn't mean we have to be lumped together with all those nasty Shelias and auzzie-pricks. Like WTF? Its South-East-Asia for crying out loud not Oceania or Whatever.

I'm getting this game on GOG.
for me censorship is a crime worse than child molesting (but unfortunately a legal crime). the game is meant for a mature audience so i dont see the reason for censoring it. censoring a product that is not meant for children, is an indirect admission that the laws that prohibit the sale of that product to children do not exist or are simply ignored by everyone.

Fascinating indeed :)
So where would we pick up this "fan" made censor fix patch?

Probably on TW2 forums, which are now tempporary out of order. There was a great modding community there for the first game!

But I bet it'll be reposted all over the Intertubes once it gets out.

AlaCarcuss: I can't believe all this hullabaloo over such a minor thing. One quest in the game offers sex as a reward - that reward has been replaced by something else. So the f**k what??
The change itself isn't the entire problem. New Zealand is being sold this version despite being told we were getting the uncensored one. On top of that refusing refunds in this situation is illegal here. Also some of us are very much against censorship on principle, and when this change isn't required by NZ law then I think it's reasonable to ask why it's happening and insist that it does not happen. Personally I find censorship to be extremely offensive.

AlaCarcuss: I'm an aussie and the fact that we have no R+ rating for video games makes me RAGE! But really it's no big deal - we can just import the games that are censored or refused classification (banned).
I don't think risking large fines and/or imprisonment for importing banned materials is "no big deal". Supposedly even this year Australians were being fined up to AU$110000 for importing copies of Mortal Kombat 9. If you really want to play these games then I'd suggest you lobby your government instead of taking big risks by importing contraband.

I thought that was only an issue if you went on to re-sell the imported material? I thought actually owning it wasn't an offence?
And I'm sure I've read somewhere that there's no law for digital material.

i second this. just knowing the game had content cut for no reason annoys the crap out of me. it wont stop me enjoying the game, but it will be constantly in the back of my head
