Dorren: fingers crossed something gets done :P
Wouldn't bother me so much, but its what they censored that annoys me.
I can legally go into town and pay for sex IRL, but because AUS doesn't like it ,we get this censored in game. and i'm in NZ.. but yeah , when the game comes out lets hope the fix patch comes out fast :P
Interesting useless trivia: the age of majority in Scotland is 16. Theoretically they can marry, have children, join the army, kill enemy combatants abroad, and then come back home and not be admitted to a theatre to see a film with sex and violence in it!
Below is my response from GOG re the censored version of the game:
--
Hello,

Unfortunately we're currently unable to change the version of the game that a user has on their account, or make a refund, after purchase. We're currently compiling a list of users interested in a version change after they purchased the incorrect one by mistake, but we can't promise if and when this could be done. We apologize for the inconvenience.
---
Regards
GOG.com Support
Given this is an issue of false advertising then refusing a refund would be in violation of New Zealand consumer laws.

That's what I've been thinking.
I hope they realise that this is a violation of New Zealand consumer law which GOG is subject to as a supplier to New Zealand consumers. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, Part 1 Section 9; delivering a product that is not the one described gives the consumer the right of redress for a refund or the correct product.
to be honest, i wouldnt like a refund as long as i can patch away the censorship.
if CDPR wanted to be fair at all they would just release an NZ patch that removed the censorship, that way they also wouldnt have to deal with the different versions, per se
Well I guess this is a non issue for me since now I have 2x virtual copies of the game (AU-US), the only thing that would make my head explode from disappointment would be if the game wasn't worth the double purchase (ie. if it sucked ass)

Fjellbukken: For students from my country, studying abroad in Aus and NZ is all about surfing, sex and alcohol. So why this hypocrite cencorship? :P

Does the rest of the world get the 100% uncut, uncencored sexy version with all the violence and dark mood that the developer intended?
No Government will ever give a flying crap about our games.

Until they realise how much money those sales mean. And income = taxable!

For example according to this article:

http://gospodarka.gazeta.pl/gospodarka/1,33181,9581897,_Parkiet___Juz_111_tys__klientow_kupilo__Wiedzmina.html

which sadly is Polish only, TW2 has already been preordered by 111 thousand people, with an estimated 186 mln PLN (about 70 mln USD) income.

To give you a sense of perspective, that's the amount of money that "Jurassic Park" made during it's opening weekend, or "The Dark Knight" on opening night (adjusted for inflation)!

Ok,

so can someone clarify this for me please? I bought the US version after setting my country settings to US, that means I have the uncensored version correct?

Yes, correct.
So long as you weren't in Australia/New Zealand, then you have the uncensored version :)

By in you mean just my account region status right? Not my actual physical location/IP address?

Cos I am IN New Zealand but I've set my status to US in GOG.

According to your avatar, you are in the US ;)

Yes, so long as account region is set, then that is fine.
GOG removed its Geo-IP tracking service last week, so you're all good my friend.

Not that GOG condones such a move of course ;)

I can't believe all this hullabaloo over such a minor thing. One quest in the game offers sex as a reward - that reward has been replaced by something else. So the f**k what??

I'm an aussie and the fact that we have no R+ rating for video games makes me RAGE! But really it's no big deal - we can just import the games that are censored or refused classification (banned).

But this, THIS IS NOTHING FFS!!
its probably a little late but I missed out what actually is censored, anyone know 100% what has been removed? :P
