Werewing: An old topic, I know, but I can please request that this program be re-uploaded? Seeing as MegaUpload was shut down?
Here's another mirror: link

Just clicking that link should start the download. It's a really, really small file.

EDIT: Google Analytics said that someone tried to download the file from my site and got a 404. I moved my site to another host recently and haven't had a chance to restore everything yet, but in case said person checks this thread again, I've fixed the link so that it works now. Sorry about that.

Hi... I forgot to turn the app on before starting the game and I died... I feel so sad right now... The last five minutes I had my head against the wadrobe and I felt teh teras building up, I felt like I would not care if I died in real life too... Mostly because I had forced myself so much to be careful, I was enjoying the tension and all, but then, with ONLY ONE SINGLE STROKE on my back, an enemy killed me... I couldn't see him coming because of this so narrow fov... I had Qen on, I don't want to lose my 15hs of gameplay to something so stupid... Please, tell me that there is a way to remove the death's mark from my save... ): ;-;

I wasn't planning to "wast" my Sunday off work restarting TW2 once again... I've already beat it on Dark, made the weapons and armors, I wanted to beat it on Insane before buying TW3, but I got this instead... Monday i will have to work, but by Monday I want to be really dead...

EDIT: I had a dream then I woke up from it. I can't remember it now, but I still remember this urge to check the app's folder in hope to find a kind of .log...

There wasn't any...

To have a log containing all the registry changes would be really nice...

EDIT 2: Nevermind! I just got over my frustration and started a new game. And I not only just went further into the game under this difficulty and I enjoyed it even more now! Man, I love this game (:

PS: Yet, a log would be nice...

DrDeathhand: 2. Can you add an option in your program that allows you to export
the registry code (or other data) that your program finds to restore your savegames
after dying? Why I am asking this is because well sometimes you have
to reinstall your computer or something and then you of course lose your
registry data (and or other data) and this means your Witcher 2 insane saves are broken and
useless. But if you can export the right registry keys using your awesome
program you can avoid this problem because when you reinstall your pc
and then import the exported registry key then voila it all works again.
I added an Export... button which saves the key as a .reg file. To restore the key, simply run the .reg and Windows will inject the data where it needs to be. Simply save the .reg with the .sav and .bmp and you should be able to restore the save on any machine. No guarantee this will work but it should in theory.

Added a .log. It saves in the same format as the .reg so export a dummy .reg file, copy the relevant data over to the .reg file (open with notepad) and run the .reg to import. It won't do any good for you now but it could prevent so much loss in the future by potentially capturing the data for a previous autosave.

Why bother playing Insane if you're just going to edit your save if you die? It's pointless and childish.

Stepped on fire while walking with Henselt and not really bothering to watch where I'm going since it's a pointless walk until the discussion. Now I lost all my saves. I think this utility is incredible, if I can just make it work.

Who's fault is that?
Years ago I completed the game on insane but I had to reinstall the game and are now blocked, this tools can be used to retrieve them?

Afraid not—according to other people, it has to be running with the game when the saves are marked dead. That really only makes it useful for getting around saves being marked dead while playing and not because of a reinstall or moving the files around.
I downloaded this today after I was killed in Act 1. I was doing the Hung Over Quest and running back through Flotsam without any armor and weapons and was killed by the guys that Loredo sends on you if you refuse to help him in the Underground fighting ring. Totally forgot about those guys and was not expecting to get attacked in town at all.

Anyways, can someone confirm that this still works? I started a new game on insane and created a few saves and then walked into a fire and died just to test it out. When I exited the game the program was still running but there wasn't any data saved in the log.

Thanks!

I got all the way through the campaign on Insane, to the point where you kill or leave Saskia. made the decision to leave her. I'm still IN the cinematic, and the game crashes like the 500 other times it has, and boom. playthrough deleted (no longer accessible) not a goddamn thing I could do. You think it's childish?

Replying to a 6 year old comment might be.
