It is possible the installer will try to open the .bin file and your computer will helpfully (not) try to open it in VLC.

You can find the .exe installer in Documents/GOG.com Downloads/witcher_2

(Documents = My Documents on Win XP I think)
This man speaks the truth.
Thanks a lot man, wish I had read this before uninstalling VLC though.
YUP DO WHAT HE SAYS, go into your folder where its kept, there should be an installer, GOOD LUCK FELLOW ADVENTURERS
Thanks for the tip. VLC did indeed try and play the game all by itself. A bit ambitious of you ask me.

And if I didn't use the GoG downloader?
I don't have a Gog.com Downloads folder in My Documents, I have only my bin files...
I didn't manual download, but from what I'm hearing from people, file 6 (the 2 MB one) is an .exe file you should be able to run.
Ooops, this is embarrassing, I only saw the big file! :-o
Thanks for the help!!
