man, started it in high settings, looks like a pre-renderd cutscene, probably the best looking game ive seen art wise and technically. but when it comes to gameplay it turns into a slide show. i had high hopes i would be able to play with high settings but even with the res switched to 720p and most settings to medium i get around 25fps while in a fight. so yea, looks like ill be playing on low :( im also above recommended settings so this is quite disappointing. if anyone has any performance tips for myself or anyone else who might have trouble, please share

cheers.

specs:
i7 2600k
8gig ram
1gb ati 4890
windows 7 64-bit
i7-920 @ 4.0
6950 2GB unlocked
Win 7 x64
1920x1200
all on high - uber turned off
mid 40's

so something else is wrong or 4890 is just a lot weaker than we think.
i am thinking amd is going to have to do some driver work on this game though.
everyone in my game walks halfway underground so...
For everyone who has perf issues, try to turn off the ubersampling. For a lot of people that option is the reason of a really bad performance.
i think i might have to buy myself a 6950 :\ just for this. im a games art student and this games just looks so good art wise i need to play it at its best haha.

i have ubersampling switched off. my drivers are 2 months old though, going to install the latest and see...but yes, im quite dissapointed after all the talk that the "minimum" requirements meant you could run the game at a steady rate on medium settings or what have you.
I have far worse specs than that and have no performance issues on the "High" preset playing at 1920 x 1200.

GTX 295 and an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83.

So....yea. Don't know what to tell you.

i bet its been optimized for nvidia :@ or it just hates my card.
Mine isn't a slideshow but in fact it feels too fast and slippery!
4890 is out of date.

The big problem the 4000 series had was with textures.

turn down the textures/shaders but leave everything else high and see what effect that has.

Also make sure AA is turned off in settings along with URber Sampling
Wasn't impressed with the performance either. But turning off ubersampling did it for me. Everything on high / ultra (no motion blur, no dof, no ubersampling) @ 1680x1050 runs pretty smooth.

Lol, it is faster than the recommended card.
tried on minimum. im really angry because the game is basically unplayable. 23fps im getting when theres people on screen. around 30fps when its empty, and when i walk over a spell i cast it shoots down to around 10fps. something must be wrong somewhere if im above the recommended specs..
its faster then the recomended card and he is trying to play it on HIGH.

Yes if everything is min and thats your FPS something is wrong.

is your card running in forced AA...
oh if AI is turned on turn it off
AI settings on nvidia cards is almost always bad.
By Nvidia I mean ATI :) or rather AMD...
meh give me a break people :)

Your graphics card really stands out as being the weakest link here. I played the game on my personal PC and on the High preset (which looks beautiful) I get 60+ fps (it's as smooth as my eyes can watch). Considering almost all other "PC" games nowadays are choppy, ugly console ports, I'm thoroughly impressed.

Ubersampling is a crazy setting for monster PCs and playing the game in 2015 or something. ;)

Intel Q6600 @ 3.0GHz
Nvidia GTX470
win7 x64

1920x1080

No stutters or FPS lag, everything is smooth. Not sure how many FPS I am getting but I'm not complaining at all. It looks and runs beautifully after turning uber off. Wonderinf if I can lower other features and keep uber on. Going to have to play with it tomorrow since it's 5AM.

Really inconsistent ranging from 25-60 on more or less the lowest settings. Seems like it's an issue with ATI cards. The game does seem optimised for Nvidia cards but should there really be this much of a performance difference?
