Hello Guys,

I've a big issue in launching The Witcher 2. When from GOG Galaxy 1.2.50 I press play appear the launcher and on this window I click "Launch the game" then the medallion splash screen comes out for about 10 seconds. At this point I would have expected the game to start but it crashes without any error code. I've already googled it pretty much with no result.

Can you help me to start the game?

I'm on Windows 10 Pro 64bit Version 1809

[EDIT]

SOLVED check here.

Check that your antivirus or other security software is not preventing it from starting. Also, have you ran the config utility?

Hi Hickory, thanks for the response.

I've actually only Windows Defender as antivirus software, it doesn't seem to apply any restriction to the launcher or to the main executable. Regarding the config, yes, I've also run the configurator to try out some working "combination" of settings but with no luck.

The diriver is updated to the last version and works fine, I've just finished The Witcher 1 whitout any problems. I even tried to disable windows defender completely but with no results... I don't really know how to fix it.

I'm trying to take a look at it. But I'm not really good at digging into Event Viewer... The only event that seems to make sense is this one:

Yes I've a AMD card before the 2080. I actually think that the last log I've send you regards a new user that I was trying for launching The Withcer 2. Just now I found another log into Event Viewer that contains "witcher" string that talks about the Launcher.exe maybe could usefull:

Did you had uninstalled the amd driver with DDU?, because until now are some left over from amd driver card that don't play nice...

pigulici: Did you had uninstalled the amd driver with DDU?, because until now are some left over from amd driver card that don't play nice...
I just tried that. Unfortunately It's not working...
If it helps I've tried to run witcher2.exe as Administrator through the compatibiilty mode in Properties. In this way the behavior is similar but the splashscreen does not disappear, remains on the screen until I kill it manually from Task Manager
I've also tried to perform a clean boot, again with no success...

Beside a clean instal of windows, I don't know what you can try, maybe to force from nvidia control panel to be witcher 2 on performance...
