I am in act 2, and I cut down a group of enemy so fast that my adrelina (watever it is) doesn't accumulate fast enough. The result is that I never have a good chance to caught the group finishing moves. Or if I caught one, I have only 1 foe with a pity drop of blood.

The 1st act on my first play through was more rewarding. Beside Letho encounter, where I have to face him in a small room, I feel all other fight are winnable.

I REALLY HOPE CDPJ TO SAY: PISSED OF - WE ARE NOT GONNA MAKE THE GAME ANY EASIER ! IF YOU WANT AN EASY GAME, CHOOSE "EASY" LEVEL
thers still a few points where if your not prepared or on a first run you get your ass handed you....the bounty hunters in act 3 gave me a bugger of a fight
This is typically known as the learning curve.

Exactly. Nobody complains because it's not as hard to tie their shoes now that they're over six!

lol. It's strange what triggers memories. Reading this made me remember an event as a young child and how damn ecstatic I was at tying my own shoes. :/

Its more than that. The game doesnt create new challenges or scale the difficulty of mundane non-boss comabt enough to challenge geralt with the new gear and abilities he gets, so the second two chapters are considerably easier than the first.

Better weapons and armor make a huge difference, and with the exception of exploding creatures, we've seen all the tricks the enemies have to offer in chapter 1. I actually wish they'd pump up the challenge of the second two chapters, outside of the boss battles. Even on Hard difficulty they are too easy, and playing on perma death "insane" difficulty with the bosses in this game would be ...well, "insane".

You should try a real roguelike.
You know, you can always impose artificial restrictions on yourself if you think combat is too easy.

I've never been swayed by the arguments from the "tie one arm behind your back" school of compensation for uneven design. Sure, I could use only the starting weapons the whole game, but then I'd be depriving myself of the intended rewards system.

I dont want to use a +1 sword the entire game. I want to find new and more awesome swords, and I want the enemies to adapt in challenge level as a result.

Come on, you know mowing through the harpies like a knife through butter in chapter 2 was not as satisfying as the combat in chapter 1, where you always had to be on your toes.

Im just saying there's room for improvement here, and it could be addressed in a balance pass for some sort of revised edition

*shrug* One can be passive throughout life and wait for things to occur, or one can be proactive.

I mean, I totally wish there was a harder setting than Hard that didn't wipe your saves.

But, there isn't, so I'm playing this current playthrough without spending any points in swords and signs or ever using Quen. ;p

Well, thats because its your only choice right now. But wouldnt you maybe like CDPR to take a look at it at some point, for some future revision of the game? Thats all I'm saying.

Of course, a full modding toolset would probably make that happen much sooner.
My recollection is that TW1 actually got more difficult throughout the game, to the point where I relied on (o/p) Igni near parts of the end (playing on Hard). The learning curve does seem much more shallow in TW2 - or rather, it's much steeper initially, then plateaus.

Thank you =)
I really found that it got easier as I progressed and hit level 20.............until I met the Queen Harpie and her escort?? Wow, had to re-strategize about 10 times in a row..............which is a good thing as I found myself moving way too fast.
