hi I just bought the witcher enhanced edition from gog like 2 days ago, and its been a exercise in frustration.

first the classic installer wouldn't work, so I tried the gog galaxy program which did work but left we with a game I couldn't run do to not meeting the minimum requirements (which I did).

now after hunting down a solution I have a game that works but with a combat system (admittedly haven't used for more than a hour) that I hate.

it just feels so clunky, this push a button to attack then wait while he swings his sword at the enemy a few time then hit the button again to swing some more just feels weird and wrong

are there any mods that fix or at least help this issue?

I have seen the full combat rebalance mod but it didn't show what the mod actually did.

just a video that looked nice but was ultimately useless, like a pre rendered game trailer

That is how the combat is designed at core. It would take more than a mod to change the essence of how you fight. I agree, the fighting is very counter-intuitive and frustrating at first. I hated it, just like you, but I persevered. Before long, after you start to get into the swing, it becomes much less of a chore and you actually start to not even notice how clunky it is -- it becomes, one might say, natural. My advice is to not get bent up over it and just keep at it. If you allow yourself to get frustrated you will hate what is an awesome game and that will be your loss.

This is a perfect advice of Hickory, wolfwarstorm. It's an unusual combat system, and so it takes more than one hour to get used to it. But afterwards it's fun:

ok I will try it some more. your talking to someone who really like dark souls 1 and 2, and while the combat could feel clunky at times it felt believably clunky. smooth enough to make you feel in control of your actions but awkward enough to punish mistakes hard
