well the patch fix worked, I have now upgraded to EE and patched it up. thank god finally i can play..

probably TW2 will arrive tomorrow, i hope. it shipped on the 19th from thehut...
I'm hoping my copy arrives soon. It shipped on the 16th, so it should be here any day now. Thought it'd be here today, but it was just a bunch of cds :)
well i just downloaded the 1.4 directly from the site and this time i need a language pack so maybe they did upload a working 1.4
Haven't tried to register my EE edition in a few days now. Did they fix the registration issue for Wither 1 yet?
ok well after i redownloaded the 1.4 patch this morning everything seems to be going great now, can finally play again. so im guessing they fixed it and uploaded it and havent said anything yet
Took me forever to download and install everything (my connection isn't the fastest), but it seems to be working fine. Looks like people can normally install the Enhanced Edition without issues.
I got the Unreg patcher to work with the instructions from tomdonnley, but once the installer was goinng, I got a "catastrophic error" after just a few seconds, and it aborted. -.-'
Try downloading 1.4 patch from cdprojek. You will need the english language patch from one of the many other sites (I use fileshack.com). I tried this patch this morning and it worked without registration. I'll try to register again in a few weeks when they get their servers working.

This problem is fixed!

You can download patch 1.4 from The Witcher site. It will upgrade the vanilla Witcher to EE. It will not require registration. You will need the language pack, which you can get to on the same page as patch 1.4. Then you may as well patch to 1.5.

Thank you CDPR!

Okay, but the language pack is the first Witcher EE, which requires a registration?
So I'm still back at the original problem.

Or is there another "original" EE non -registration language version out there?
No registration is required; just download the english langauge back from fileshack and put it in the same directory as the TWEE_upgrade then run the upgrade.

no you shouldnt need to register at all
Ah, now I I'm downloading the actual language pack via Fileshack. When I tried to it by the official site, it began to download a 909mb file, which is probably the 1.4. Enhanced patch.

So I'm indeed crossing my fingers now :)

*edit: WORKED! :D Had to download it twice though, but it's working now! :D

Thanks all and enjoy! :)

Woohooo!
Just tried this...and installing w/ Patch 1.4 from Witcher's site.
It's installing Patch 1.4 w/out it looking for server-side auth or registration or anything.
I used the language packs I already had, as well.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

EDIT:
Patch 1.5 installed from off the Witcher site, as well.
Game is running fine here on my modern Win 7 PC now.
AGAIN - PROBLEM SOLVED.

Well - a bit late but they finally posted an official note on their website that patch 1.4 was updated to no longer require registration.
