The actual generation of games retailers often pisses me off. I mean, I like to buy once, and that's all. I bought The Witcher Enhaced Edition in Steam, and I certainly liked the way CDProjekt reach his users: they offer free updates of their games, or dlcs, and i find it awesome.
So, i wanted to start playing games in GOG. I want to redeem The Witcher here, to play it here. Is there a way?

Games brought on other sites are not transferable to GOG. Also GOG doesn't have a client, so you can't 'play' games here.
I know it is not a client. I mean, it would be great seeing The Witcher game in the GOG library, with the possibility to download the bonus content apart from the game itself, like the soundtrack or the wallpapers.

Unfortunately this is not possible. You have to buy from GOG to get these extras. Generally that's the policy with all digital distributors, unfortunately.

The steam version has all the goodies as the GOG.com version does, they are in the Steamapps folder where steam installs all game content, you only have DRM extra :)

Yeah? So, please tell me where are the wallpapers :)

Zeegots: Yeah? So, please tell me where are the wallpapers :)
Looks like they are NOT included

Steam page says
In your download you'll also get: Multilingual game disc, D'jinni Adventure Editor, Two new adventures offering 5+ hours of gameplay, Official Soundtrack, Music Inspired by The Witcher album, Making-of videos, Official game guide, Map of The Witcher's world

No mention of wallpapers there. (I don't own the steam version, but I do own the GoG version)

Looks like the Wallpaper and a few extra goodies (avatars, artbook, Witcher calender and the Witcher story) are exclusive to GOG.com, the Mac version (for now) is exclusive to Steam.
Just in case anyone that comes across this thread doesn't know about it:

Yeah, the site's choking hard. Sorry about that. We're getting a *lot* of traffic. You will be able to get your free backup of The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings by going to www.gog.com/witcherbackup -- but only on or after the 17th of April. Once the Enhanced Edittion is out, we'll have a page up there where you put in your key and the game will be added to your account.

Thanks. I didn't know about it.

You're welcome. I remember reading somewhere that either the free GOG.com copy offer was going to expire soon for either TW1 or TW2, but I don't recall which. Hopefully that is still a while yet.

As I recall, the expiration was for getting a replacement CD-Key for the first Witcher. So while it is still possible to redeem both Witchers, if the first one you have doesn't have a valid cd-key with it, it may no longer be possible to redeem it.

look in Steam/Tools/Witcher 2 Bonus Content (its an extra 10 GB Download.)

You could also get the CDKey from steam and activate it on GOG to download only the parts you want. (its Triss, isn't it...) :):):)

Witcher 1 works
Witcher 2 works if you redeem it through the witch 3 portal not the standard GOG redeem
Tried it

WOW! i didn't even know i could redeem both games! :O

i have a copy of TW1EE sitting on my comp desk and i came across this thread. Entered the regkey at gog.com/witcher/backup and VOILA! TW1 and TW2 for the price of none :))

TY so much to GOG and CD Projekt for a great game and good service (still needs some improvements on patching, etc.). i'm so looking forward to TWWH.
