Hello, I've downloaded The Settlers II The Next Generation on Gog Galaxy, the game is going well, except for the small thing that I can not save games, that makes the game unplayable, even autosave does not work.

I do not think that it is because of the access rights to the folder "c: \ documents \ s2", because the installer creates this folder itself.

I use win 10 64 bit

Does anyone know the problem, or has a solution?

greetings

According to this thread, Bitdefender could be the culprit.

Try disabling it. If it's indeed Bitdefender that's causing it see if adding the save directory to exclusions helps.

Ok, thank you ZFR, your answer is part of the solution I do not use Bitdefender but I use Windows Defender and there is probably the same problem.
The anti-virus protection must be deactivated, then also the saving of the game works.

Thank you for your help :)

No problem. Instead of deactivating the antivirus, see if you can add Settlers to an exclusions list or something.
