I would like to buy this game from Gog.com rather than from another source, but then I saw it is only in english???

For everybody that are not familiar with the Settlers games, most (or all) of the games were designed and developed by a german studio and therefore german language is the original one.

Does anybody know if Gog.com made a mistake or is the game really only available in english?

If it has german language included, I would buy the game immediately :)

if it says english, then its only in english. it has something to do with licensing iirc, gog doesn't always buy all language licenses or whatever i dont really know. but many german games here don't offer german audio and text. some people like myself (see settlers 3) offer language patches for some games. i could try to create one for this game but unfortunately i dont own the game here.

just dont blame me for anything.

the installer needs to be directed to the game folder. i tested intro and first mission, both were german, so i guess it should work for the whole game. i cant promise it though, i just dont have the time to play the whole game.
