im new to the forum, but tried you patch, and didnt seem to work, got the problem from the begining with black screen, and if i run with DXGL i atleast see everything but cant build in game.

Running windows 8.

I'm only wondering why you left the "DDrawCompat" entry at 0 by default in the dxwrapper.ini. changing it to 1 gave me a huge performance boost, the game was borderline unplayable before.

works very well performance wise in combination with high resolutions like 1080p and beyond.

Can anybody help me what to do? So i downloaded S4_Main_Fix i pasted them into appropriate folder (where S4_Main is). i did even the same with another fix to Editor and still I got the same problem (about 3D graphics..). I don't really understand what is in the "solution" section so I didn't do anything from there.

I am using windows 10 (GTX 960, i7)

Are you sure that it was clean installation? Is It GoG version? If not, then maybe you need download latest patch? Aren't you using other programs like dgvoodoo which can interfere with the game? Sorry for stupid question but you did copy only files not directory with fix?

To run everything like it should I had to use combo of eriedlinger's fix, widescreen tool and DXWnd.

My settings:
Main: Run in window, Acquire admin caps, Position - Desktop
Videa: Screen Resolution - native
DirectX: Switch VIDEO to SYSTEM on fail
The rest is at its default.

Hi Is this the same patch for windows 8.1, I downloaded gog version applied the patch for settlers then I copied the 3 files of yours over now it is saying insert disc. My compat settings are the same as yours thanks

Hello Simon, The latest version of The Settlers IV from GOG already includes my fix. You should no longer need my patch. Try downloading the latest version from GOG and reinstalling it.

The procedure entry point MiniDumpWriteDump could not be located in the dynamic link library C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dlumd9.dll

so i then press ok the graphics change as if the game is loading then it says:

Software 3D: Error initializing Graphic Interface.....blah blah
I got the latest version from IPTorrents but i dont think its the latest one do you have a link to the latest game thankyou very much

I have the newest Macbook pro and I am running Windows 10 Pro through the Parallels desktop. When I run the latest patched game of S4 Gold( i got it on GOG) I receive the error message Error 3d...Could someone please help?

I cannot help you here. If you want to play the GOG version you need to purchase it and download it from GOG.


Can you verify that you are using version 2.50.1516? This one should work on Windows 10, though I never tested with Parallels since I don't have a Mac.

Hello, I just downlaoded Setters 4 GOld Editiomn from GOG and I can't find any solution that gets rid of the 3D Issue, I tried all the fixes and it still doesnt work,

Hello.

This is what fixed the issue with the 3d error'

I installed Settlers III from GOG, the latest hotfix version.

When you run Settlers III on a modern OS, Windows will ask to install DirectPlay, go ahead and install the update.

Then I could run S4, but it was laggy, really laggy.

I had to apply both the S4 main fix and the S4 Editor fix, Edit the Dxwrapper on the Editor fix and set the DX7 to 1.

Everything works Ok now.
