Hi guys!

Bought Settlers IV a few days ago however when I started it up, only the initial splash screen has audio. The Bluebyte logo has no audio, the intial video has no audio and the game itself has no audio and there isn't any menu or settings at all to check the audio settings.

I have checked online and could not find anything at all about how to fix this.

Using Windows 10 21H2 version.

Cheers.

Hi

Download dgVoodoo2 app

https://github.com/dege-diosg/dgVoodoo2/releases

unpack and copy all files from MS\x86\ to your Settlers 4 Gold\Exe\ directory

Run dgVoodooCpl.exe to create configuration, use dgVoodo Virtual Card, save config to Settlers 4 Gold\Exe\ directory.

Now you can start Settlers 4 :)

If something is not clear, please find and watch "dgvoodoo2 how to use" on www.youtube.com

Cheers.
Hello, i have been trying to get settlers IV to work.

I have followed the advice given in the sticky post to no luck.

The game launches, im met with a black screen & the mouse. I can move it around & hear it hovering over things. The menu works & can click(with luck) into a mission while using a totally black screen. i have gone though every option and tried it on the DXGL launcher.

At this point it slightly fixes it however i am seeing very little of the screen. Check here www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6gmPTJDIAk

Tried using the voodo with same results.

Refunded and brought off the uibsoft store, it works

Hey,
I installed the Game and followed the instructions but ingame the Maps are not loading and it took me to the Desktop without an error when I trying to load the List of Skirmishes or start a campaign.

Can anyone help me with it?

with kind regards from Germany with my Win11-PC
try lunching game from it's main folder using "Lunch The Settlers IV Gold". In my case works perfectly without any other alterations to game folder ( intro, sound, cutscenes etc. - in on word: everything).
narzoul/DDrawCompat

For me (Windows 11 24H2, i9-13980HX 32GB DDR5 5600MHz, NVidia 4090 laptop 16GB 256bit 175W, 2650x1600 16:10 G-Sync screen) best and easiest solution with the best results (smoothest scrolling and video refresh, correct mouse pointer proportions, no flickerings, tutorial pop-ups correctly displayed at the bottom etc.) was by using narzoul/DDrawCompat 0.6: https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases

Just put ddraw.dll into "...\Settlers 4 Gold\Exe\" (and "\Editor\" ) and it worked perfectly smoothly on modern system.

This solution worked like a charm for me too. I had the same problem: no intro movies, only a black screen with mouse and sound on. Unpacked the ddraw.dll in the Exe folder and the issue was solved.
Now only need to deal with some random "Fatal error" after some time of gameplay :S
