May be the "The Settlers 4 - Widescreen Tool" will work for you.

Hey, maybe I am a little slow but I cannot figure out the notepad gfxengine.dll mod. Is there a dummies guide?

I'm such a newbee in all those things about configuring a game... I'vs downloaded DXGL, but do not undestand what I have to do with it. I try to add my S4.exe file in DXGL but I don't see what I have to change.

May be someone could help me, telling me step bye step what I have to do and how it works, Thank you in advance

Hi,
you have to add S4.ex and S4_main.exe to the DXGL List.
For DXGL V0.5.12, see the attached picture for the settings i use.
If you add S4_main.exe, its name is not shown in the list. That shouldn't be a problem though.
Make sure, the settings for each file are the same shown on the picture.

I created a patch for The Settlers IV on Windows 8 and Windows 10. This works without DXGL, DxWnd or dgVoodoo. It is specific to Settlers IV. You can check it out here: The Settlers Windows 10 fix

I can confirm erriedlinglers patch makes settlers IV run on windows 10.

I can also confirm that erriendliger's fix makes the game run on Windows 10. In case that it doesn't start once you apply it, run compatibility troubleshooter on S4.exe and it will afterwards.
