Does anyone know if the infamous map bug where icons are displayed incorrectly at resolutions other than 1280x* is fixed in this release?

Map bug is definitely fixed, I can finally play the game at 1920x1080!

downloaded the game from origin and yes, just in the gog version is fixed

Well it was pretty cheap with the 50% off so I bought it again, it was the same price I paid for the version in origin and I didn't even mind it, the game is worth it.
