JClosed: Because I use Linux as my main OS? Is that so difficult to understand?
Sure - I could have a dual-boot system, but it's cumbersome to reboot the system every time I want to play a game. And yes - I have a Windows computer, but that is used to run strictly production software like Cubase. No way I going to put games on that machine.
Anyway - I should not even have to explain what I want Linux only installers/games here on GOG when the developers simply have that installers, but are to lazy to make them available on GOG. It's not me that has explaining to do, but developers!
The main thing that constantly baffles me is that the games that do exist in native versions for Linux distro's aren't any better at all than their Windows counterparts, at best, and generally the Windows versions ship first--but far more importantly, there are so many more games available for Windows right now that it's somewhat puzzling to see people who like gaming a lot to want to do it on a Linux distro exclusively. I can certainly understand Linux distro users who rarely game and simply don't care that much about it to inquire about a game here and there getting a native Linux version--but I can't understand the point of running a Windows emulator on top of a Linux distro, however...;) That really isn't running a Linux game at all, if you know what I mean, and I'm sure you do.
But anyway, this isn't "knocking" Linux--it's a great OS for many things--it's just that I wouldn't call 3d gaming one of those things. I'm certainly not trying to insult your choice of OS at all--to me, Linux and gaming seem like oil and water, that's all. I don't fly an OS flag--OSes are just tools for me. Each to his own, of course. Just making conversation. I sincerely hope you can find everything you want in the way of gaming for your choice of Linux distro...;) Best wishes.
