When I select the English installer and attempt to download, the GOG Downloader says I am downloading the German installer. In fact it makes no difference which language installer I select, the GOG Downloader says I am downloading the German version.

Is the GOG Downloader actually downloading the English version when I select English even though it says German?

Don't worry, it's a multilanguage version, so yes, downloader is downloading the English version. You can select the voice and subtitles on the initial screen of the game. Looks like it is a minor bug in GOG downloader, you can send a support ticket if you want.
