What is this Big Medium Update of 42 GB doing? The original gamefiles I downloaded have 40GB and now I get an update bigger than the original gamefiles?
I presume this...

- Performance optimizations across the whole game
- Eliminated gameplay bugs in various locations
- Eliminated known game crashes
- Eliminated game bugs reported by the community
- Graphical bug fixes across the whole game
- Improvements in camera operation and settings
- Scene lighting fixes in various locations
- Fixes for reported crash issues when loading saves
- Improvements in interactions with in-game events and characters across the whole game
- Raytracing optimizations across the whole game

Too bad I just finished the game last weekend... (I should add: with no problems.)

The game ran for me without major problems before too, thats why I found it odd that it gets that big of an update. But thx for the link:)
Can somebody confirm that the patch is live on GOG, too? It still says v1.0.182 for me and if I look at the details of "Medium.exe" the File- and Product versions are still 1.0.0.0 too. "Check for updates" does nothing.

Regarding Steam the new patch should raise the version number to v1.1 (unless they have different branches for each platform with different version numbers)

Beause I however have some problems with the game like popping in lights, really bad performance and flickering shadows, so I'm waiting for a patch desperately.

Had the same problem with Call of the Sea and it seems ppl who bought it at GOG are often second-class customers and have to wait way longer for updates :/

I can only confirm that yesterday the galaxy launcher pulled a big (40+GB) Update for the The Medium on my account. The offline backup installer version for me on the gog website and in the galaxy launcher is still v1.0158. I don't know how to check the version for The Medium in the running game however since I cant find the running version there. All I know is that the game DID some kind of UPDATE yesterday. Not sure why I can not track what was done exactly, it was a hell of suspicious big update imo.

It is true that some publisher/devs do indeed roll out updates a bit later on GOG I dont know how Bloober Team SA handles that.
Given Bloober's geography, I think they keep their GOG releases updated on par with steam and Windows Store.

Galaxy has the update, but it appears to be a full reinstall, with a 39 GB download.
offline installer not yet updated, but GOG makes those
