UK_John: Well, based on the clues in TLJ and Dreamfall, I reckon the 3rd game, if it appears, will be almost exclusively in Arcadia as that's where it's all going to happen. After all, that's where Brian Westhouse is......!!!!

Gazoinks: That's kind of funny, because I found that the first game seemed a bit more Arcadia-centric whereas Dreamfall seems more Stark-centric (though I haven't finished it yet), so it'd make sense if they shifted back towards Arcadia.

Interestingly, I read an interview with Ragnar on RPS last week that talked a little bit about the next games. He didn't let much go on the story, but he said that Dreamfall chapters will of course wrap up Dreamfall's story as well a rewind and show the story from other points of view, and then after that there'll be The Longest Journey 2 to finish off the series. Interesting idea, though kind of annoying, since we don't even have any idea when Chapters will come (I read a more recent interview with him where he said that he'd like to work in single player again, but not for a while, and he didn't mention TLJ there), let alone TLJ2.
I believe "Chapters" will be made available on the web episodically, like the new Sam and Max, with a possibility of all the chapters being released as a retail item, again, like Sam and Max did. It's very interesting he talks about TLJ 2, because April supposedly "died" in Dreamfall!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS POSSIBLE SPOILERS POSSIBLE SPOILERS ! ! ! !

I think the TLJ Epilogue tells it all. The old lady (April Ryan, I believe) tells the TLJ story, and the youngsters ask about April and the Balance. April says the Dreamfall Guardian will be the last as during his reign Stark and Arcadia was reunited, Now that is interesting in itself, but now check the end of TLJ when April doesn't know what she's going to do and "shifts". Then we see her in Dreamfall fighting the Azardi! Well, in the epilogue, Crow comes into the room and he and April have a little chat about whether she's going on any more adventures and then he asks April to recount the story of the Warrior Princess who almost single handedly won "The Battle of the Balance"! Now it's interesting he says Warrior Princess, because when April is saved from the Vanguard by the same old lady, the woman calls herself "Lady Avelane". Now "Avelane" was the last name of Kain, the Azardi Acolyte, one of the characters you play in Dreamfall!

It's all logical conjecture, but it's interesting to think about! :)

Wait... Those were kids at the start of TLJ? They were all.. big. o_0

Ah, I hadn't thought of that Warrior Princess thing, that's a good point. Definitely seems to lead to the conclusion that Kian and April will end up getting together at some point. Though of course, calling her a Warrior Princess doesn't necessarily mean she's literally a princess. It could even refer to Zoe, though I think your theory makes more sense.
Out of curiosity, do they ever say how April lost the power to Shift in Dreamfall (I haven't finished it yet)? A yes or no will suffice to keep spoilers to a minimum. :)
I hope one of the future games also explains what the heck the Collapse is. It obviously had to do with Gordon becoming Guardian, but all references to it are just as a vague "bad thing that happened" and it seemed to have only effected Stark.

Yes they do explain why April feels she cannot, but like so much of the Longest Journey Story (TLJ or Dreamfall: TLJ), it will leave you with some of your own thoughts on the matter as it won't be clear cut, just like it leaves you work out what the collapse was. (When you finish Dreamfall, I have thoughts on that too! :)).
