I got stuck on chapter 2 not knowing how to get the key of the tracks, so i had to lok up a walkthrough and then i see this

"In your Room, open the WINDOW and look out.
Use the BREAD on the floating RUBBER DUCK.
When the bird lands on the grill, it loosens the clothesline and the rubber duck floats away.
Click the CHAIN to haul up the CLOTHESLINE, then take it. "

is the whole game like this? because thats cryptic has hell, how the hell was i supposed to know to use BREAD on a RUBBER DUCK, thats the silliest thing ive seen in a while, why would i even try that :s

There was a bird around and you had some bread. Feeding him breadcrumbs is not an outrageous idea to have. The only remaining questions were WHERE and TO WHAT END. Once you figure out that this is the only screen from which the bird can be reached, that there is a limited number of clickable spots and that, rather than feeding it, you're giving him a target to peck at... It makes sense, to an extent. You want to get the ducky but can't move it while inflated... so you find a way to deflate it by making a hole.
Mostly the puzzles are rather straightforward. I was stuck only on one part of the game - and it sure wasn't the feed the bird part. ;)

Let's just say you'll mostly get along fine, but there's a second puzzle that might bring you to pull your hair out. :D
I think, generally, the consensus is that don't make a decision about the puzzles until past the "gun shadow". After that, puzzles are much more organic.

I think the rubber duck puzzle is purely down to not reading the manual to find out how the UI works. You get a bright blue arrow on the closed window signifying you can do something with it, but you also get a bright blue arrow on the open space after you open the window. This should tell you to look through it (although I have seen LP's where people don't do that!).

Like with all adventure games, when you look through the window you see a screen. All screens in adventure games should be looked at carefully. If you click on the seagull, for example, April says he looks "hungry". that's a clue. So when you are in the cafe and see bread and find you can take it, something should click. That is adventuring! :)
Yeah, I recall reading a review saying that it initially seemed like they were trying a bit too hard to be an "adventure game" before settling into their groove as it went on. I'm only on Ch. 4 so far, but there haven't been any completely ridiculous puzzles yet (Besides this one, though it's maybe not completely ridiculous. Just, eh, mostly ridiculous. ;)).

I've finished the game recently and I think there was just one moment that almost made me weep. It was about pizza and getting to the elevator (Chapter 11). I can understand that it was almost the end of the game so they probably ran out of ideas but... no! This cannot be an excuse. That part was so ridiculous, stupid, illogical, ... (put your own list of insults here) that they should be really ashamed. I believe they hit rock bottom here...

But still the game is absolutely amazing nevertheless.

Yeah, I'd have to say Ch. 11 & 12 are probably the weakest. 13 & the ending were great though. Fantastic game, altogether.

And thanks God for that! Otherwise we would end up with a bad feeling about the game. And now we can proclaim that the game is fantastic nevertheless. However, I wonder what's the reason for lowering the quality. Did they really ran out of ideas?

Probably. I imagine they knew how the story would end but didn't want it to be too quick, so they padded a bit (as is standard in adventure games), but by that point they'd already used most of their ideas.

I disagree with the pizza, I think that was put in to show April's new confidence. A lot of Chapters 11 and 12 I felt were to remind you how far April had come from that young, shy, indecisive teenager!

As to the TLJ Epilogue, well, add that to the Prologue, and when April was rescued by the same old lady from the Vanguard, through the secret door near The Fringe, where she called herself Lady Avelane and you get so many clues! I will give you one:

POSSIBLE SPOILER POSSIBLE SPOILER POSSIBLE SPOILER ! ! ! ! !

"Avelane" is the last name of Kain, the Azardi Acolyte, one of the playable characters in Dreamfall, the Longest Journey follow-up!!!

Hm, that's true. I suppose it's case of it being good story-wise but vaguely unsatisfying gameplay-wise. But no matter. :)

And yeah, the Kian connection is interesting... Maybe he marries April? Or he dies and April takes his name as remembrance? Or maybe Kian is Lady Alvane! :O

If you check the TLJ Epilogue, you will see that Crow asks April (the old Lady) to recount the story of the "Beautiful Warrior Princess, who almost single-handedly won the "Battle of the Balance"

Warrior Princess? Battle? "Almost single-handedly" Dos sound a lot like she did it with the help of Kain, and that marriage may have been involved for her to be a "Warrior Princess"?!

I'm sticking by my theory that Kian is secretly a transvestite. xP

That does seem to make sense, and I'd be pretty surprised if that isn't what ends up happening. One thing though: Is Kian a prince? Isn't he just... a random dude?

That's not what I'm complaining about. It's clear that April changed a lot during the journey. But how come 'Jerry' was deceived so easily? That was far-fetched for my taste. I also didn't like the thing with the shadow and monkey but there it was at least clearly indicated that Freddie Melon is a complete imbecile. I was rather expecting that April would rather manipulate Gerald's vanity to enter the building. That would be perfectly justified.
nvm
