I'd love if gog released Dreamfall also!
These games along with the myst series really are some of the best adventure games ever!
Well with Funcom on-board the potential is pretty good. Check out their Wiki entry.
Bought TLJ. Finished it. Love it.
I'd buy Dreamfall the second it is available here.
When I bought Dreamfall, I got the Game of the Year Edition, which came with the Dreamfall soundtrack and The Longest Journey. Ironically, I actually liked The Longest Journey better than Dreamfall. But it would still be good to see Dreamfall here, so that others could experience it.
Dreamfall doesn't come even near the quality of tlj.
Funcom really disapponted me (and many others) with its "consolish", trivial sequel.
I hope GOG won't accept it.

It's hard to make a good adventure game in 3D... yet - that's exactly what Dreamfall is.
It has a great atmosphere, sophisticated plot, excellent graphics and animations, immersive sounds and fitting music. Sure - the puzzles might be underwhelmingly easy and it may be a bit short - but I don't hold it against it.
I even think it's a bit better than the original, as it's more emotion-packed IMO. Also - while I'm always distrustful when it comes to sequels, after about 5-10 minutes of waiting for all the familiar characters to show up I've finally given up to Zoe's unfamiliar charm ^^'...
I guess your disappointment stems from too specific expectations. Sure - you might call it "consolish" but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you take the game for what it is - it's fun. It's well made. For one thing - it certainly doesn't try to be more than it can...

I've seen it in retail for the equivalent of $4.50, so it shouldn't take too long to get here...
Also - while you may not like it, some people actually would like to see it here.

I couldn't wait, so I bought it via Steam.
I fell in love with it instantly. Because of the 3D enviroment the camera work can add so much to the athmosphere. Something TLJ clearly lacked, especially in long dialouges.
I'm not really far into the game yet (I think...Japan) but I couldn't stop playing it. Basicly the same feeling I had with TLJ.
I don't mind the game being a tad more consolish (infact I don't even see that as a downside) because music, athmosphere and character development seems to be very good.
I hope GOG will add it to their cataloge with bonus features, such as the awesome soundtrack. I'll buy it again right away.
My only gripe with Dreamfall were the "fighting" sequences. There was no reason for those to be in there, except to try and cater to a more "mainstream" audience. It was a bad decision, in my opinion; they were poorly executed, and too short to be of any value to the game. Ubisoft got the fighting/puzzle/exploration thing right with Beyond Good & Evil, and the Prince of Persia series (just finished the Next-gen PoP on PS3 for the 2nd time last night), but Funcom hasn't quite got it yet.
Everything else about the game was good...just not a good as The Longest Journey. And I liked the fact that the Game of the Year edition of Dreamfall came with the soundtrack. I wish the makers of the console RPG games I play would start doing that!!!

Couldn't agree more.
Games, especially console games, are so expensive nowadays, they might as well throw in a goodie.
Also I played through Dreamfall yesterday...
It might sound cheesy, but I seriously have to take my time to get my mind around the events that happened at the end. And now I'm glad that I bought and played the series now and not on its release date. I'd feel down, knowing that I might have to wait 3 or 4 years in order to see how the story continues.

I'd say that the casual adventure fan wouldn't really be too pleased with them...
*** SPOILERS ***
That being said - there are only three compulsory fights in the game, IIRC (the training, the ambush and the fencing lesson), two of which you can lose without any real consequences. Everything else can be avoided.

Well, Atlus has been doing it for most of the RPGs it publishes for these past two years. Makes me wonder which console RPGs you're playing.

Um...that's one of the ONLY companies doing that. Almost nobody else does. Especially not Square Enix. :(
Just to say, I'd buy Dreamfall if it was here. Hope to see it some day!
I really wish GOG would get the rights to sell dreamfall. I already own it, but it's such a pain to get working on windows Vista/7. Plus the DRM is starforce. So it'd be great to have an updated DRM free version.
I loved TLJ, but I though Dreamfall was better visually (obvously) and had a more engaging story. The gameplay was abit lacking though. Funcom should have either fleshed out the stealth & action dynamics, or made a traditional adventure game.

Yeah, i think i would grab Dreamfall then too....i wanted the art book, so i preordered the huge collectors edition thing from Funcom, and love it, but the Starforce DRM is ridiculous, so i actually downloaded the US version (no starforce, some other DRM that at least dont infect your system) and played that, so i got a nice original game on the shelf, and a copy of the cracked game so i can actually play it :(. I would love a GOG DRM free version.
