Hello.

So, when I try to update the game to the patch released today, the game scans the installed files, and then displays a message "Update failed (E6) - You don't own a valid copy of this game.", despite me buying the game on GOG.

Is that an error in the update process on NISA's side of things ?

P.S: I own the normal version of the game, not the deluxe one.

Also, I thought there was a forum for CS4, but since there's a general forum for Cold Steel games: I'm talking about Cold Steel IV.

Yeah, it's in a failed update loop right now. Bit annoying, but I can still play the game if I want, and I'm sure it'll get fixed soon.

You're definitely not alone. I type this literally from GOG Galaxy trying to continue a session as usual and am getting the same error. Our commonality? Owning the Standard edition of the game. Maybe slight difference in whether you got the Launch Edition items (offer ended 16th April). For now will have the game ignore updates for this session then renable automatic updates from tomorrow or just keep trying manually.

Having the same issue with the Deluxe Launch edition of the game. Kept getting server errors when trying to install the extras (artbook/soundtrack) yesterday and now they don't appear in the extras section on Galaxy.

Ah yea, the extras aren't there anymore I see. I have the Deluxe launch edition also. Well, I'm sure it'll get fixed soon enough.

Same here. I'm not alone so. I got the Deluxe Edition.

The artbook is missing from the extras download, maybe something more. The dlcs from Deluxe are still available.

I'm also having this issue, I got the regular version of the game. I can still play it though.

Me too, I own the deluxe edition, and can't update the game. :( I'm reinstalling the game to see what happend.

I could start by Galaxy quickly clicking into the "Play" button after selecting Retry the update. Don't know if it's getting the achievements, but cloud saving seems to be working.

Can confirm, deluxe edition : update not starting ("you on't own a valid copy") and artbooks/songs vanished from the extra tab.

Seems the curse of trails of cold steel X gog galaxy 2.0 is still going strong !

I get update failed too and it just keeps retrying over and over with the same results
