I'm looking for a solution too, its issues like this that make me refrain from buying a game on GOG. I've only ever had an achievement not pop for one game over there, and it was eventually fixed, as well as for the few achievements that didn't pop(and I can't just reload an earlier save because it was Stardew Valley), I was able to use SAM to unbreak the achievements. Is there something comparable to SAM(Steam Achievements Manager) on GOG?

As far as I know a program like sam does not exits for gog....But you should be able to unlock achievements for xseed games on gog except for trails in the sky 1 and 2 which seem to have some problems because some of them don't seem to unlock .. All the other games should be fine for more information on other games have a look here.

well then unless there's something else I can do, add the achievement for defeating 8 enemies at once to the list for Trails of Cold Steel I.

I just checked right now and there are people that have unlocked that achievement it is even a common achievement with 33% of people unlocking it (I Have attached a picture)...Are you doing maybe something wrong? I would suggest that you close galaxy and restart the game and check if there are actually 8 enemies because sometimes we make mistakes.

Maybe you can try this method and see what happens If you have not reached too far there might be some spoilers on what character joins your team

the fight that I'm doing it is the fight that specifically says to do the achievement in the guide I'm following. I did have to go back to a previous save because I didn't realize I had to.

okay sweet, crisis is over. I may have not been able to do it in the battle the guide specified, but I found a random encounter with 8 enemies. I made all my party members except Fie group up in the middle of the enemies and used Fie's S-craft to slaughter them all.

I knew that there was probably something else going on because as far as I know the only xseed games that have achievement problems are trails in the sky 1 and 2 and some old Ys games..All the other games according to other people seem to be fine.Anyways have fun. :)

A little ways into 2020, and this problem hasn't been resolved yet. You can't unlock achievements unless if you're on 1.4, and the overlay's disabled at all times so you won't see them pop (but they'll show up in the game's progress tab). This is pretty disappointing given that Cold Steel 3 is right on the horizon, but since XSEED has nothing to do with it, I'm sure they could care less.

Galaxy client update 1.2.66. Overlay still dead.

I assume achievs still broken with 1.4.1.

Still broken, overlay not active with ToCS 2 : this prevents screenshots, achievements popup and others features.

1.4.1 = No achievement at all . No Galaxy Overlay.
1.4 = No achievements notifications (but achievements are recorded on user profile). No galaxy Overlay.

Can confirm broken with Galaxy 2.023 as well. Neither of the achievements for completing the prologue (starting the game and finishing the prologue) popped.

EDIT: I submitted a bug report through the Galaxy client. They claimed it "wasn't a Galaxy issue" and closed the ticket. Never mind that the overlay doesn't work either. Some CS.

Half of 2021 and stthe achievements and Galaxy overlay still don't work. I'm currenrly playing ToCS II and completed the prologue and got a tactical bonus of 3.0x and didn't get the achievements.
If the achievements weren't been included in the GOG version, I wouldn't mind, but seeing them included and being unable of get them is fruatrating.

According to people if you revert to the previous version from Galaxy (v1.4) not (v1.4.1) the achievements should work. Never tested it .

You will still not get an overlay notification when you unlock the achievement But the achievements will be recorded once you close the game.

Sorry for the late reply, but I can confirm that the achievements work on the previous version 1.4 of ToCS 2 just as you said (no overlay/pop up). While nice, it's also sad that GOG/XSEED don't do anythig to fix this... Oh well, that's better than nothing I guess.
