SinForged: Edit: Just thought of this, but maybe they could put the untested patches as beta branches on galaxy? Of course it would be nice if non-galaxy users could get them too.
This. GoG needs to change its patching process ASAP. A lot of people is using Galaxy, make smaller patches for the Galaxy version and when the app is stable let developers upload an updated build.
Clearly GOG is doing something wrong when the dev feels like should hold the updates .

I understand why it can be a bit cumbersome to deploy the patches as stand-alone. Everything needs to be packed in a executable, and the patch client should be tested to see it doesn't do anything weird.

Now the question is, why GOG Galaxy has to wait for this cumbersome method to be deployed too?
GOG Galaxy offers a way to revert updates, so clearly they have the incremental updates/patching done right or at least have it's foundations in place.

Yeah, this patching thing is the biggest problem with GOG at the moment.
Maybe we should start a campaign or something.

Steam has version 1.2 as a public beta. Hopefully it goes RC soon and XSEED gets that on GOG ASAP.

What Durante said about it- fixes for repeated keypresses at high framerates, minor text/line break issues, one cause of crashing on some systems. Also improved HQ-DOF performance, and Autosaves.

1.1 has a Mouse Sensitivity slider in the config. I've stuck to using a game pad for now due to the mouse being a bit twitchy.

Autosaves? Alright, now I really want GOG to pick up the pace with those updates.
I really hope they are building and sending 1.2 even if it's RC to GOG early today.

If not, the chances of getting this before the next Monday/Tuesday are greatly reduced as we are already in Thursday.

By the time XSEED timezone starts work hours it will be noon/evening, so not holding my breath.

Oh BTW a nice thing with GOG: They completely ignored my ticket.

Steam users can use the 1.2 beta and we're still begging for the 1.1 that was released almost a week ago... great job GoG. If it wasn't for the regional prices this would've been the last time I buy a new game on GoG.

My recommendation to GoG: stick to the good old games. You lack the framework to support new games properly.

Waiting on an e-mail I sent a few hours ago to see if we will see 1.2 before the weekend.

Still no news in the ticket though, That's very concerning. Gives me the feeling I can't count on GOG if something goes wrong.

Hi,

We're in the process of uploading it to GOG now, so hopefully we can have it live before the weekend! I'll let you know as soon as we know for sure :D

This was 6 hours ago, so with some luck it should be live in the next 24h

That sounds good. So tomorrow maybe, we get official 1.2. Wishing them luck.
sewer56lol made an [Unofficial] Trails of Cold Steel Patch 1.2 at https://www.gog.com/forum/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky_series/unofficial_trails_of_cold_steel_patch_12
After leaving a snarky message to the ticket they didn't reply in 5 days I got this:

Hello, and my apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

We are currently investigating this issue. I will let you know as soon as I get word from the product team about the patch.
Kind regards,
Paweł

I'm planning to start playing this soon, but this talk of a delayed patch has me worried. Is there some game-breaking bug? Should I wait for the patch before starting a new game?

The game is entirely playable in its current state. It's just that the improvements the patches bring are nice.
