So I've used a dualshock 2 for my input into Trails in the Sky 1-3. It doesn't seem like that'll be possible to use for TOCS as whenever I open the config menu I only can change the Mouse/Keyboard controls and it doesn't provide an option to use an input.

Does anyone know offhand if the game only supports a certain Dual Shock controller (3,4?) or what I would need to do to map bindings to my dualshock 2? Also are there any drivers or programs necessary to use the DualShock with the game?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!
Hello my fellow Dualshock 2 user.

I don't know how to change controller bindings for Trails of Cold Steel or even if it supports changing them. Unfortunately it seems like this follows the horrible modern trend of requiring you to use an XInput controllerwithout mentioning that anywhere. I think the next game I buy that doesn't say it only supports XInput I will demand my money back.

Enough ranting. The support drones here will tell you to use some Xbox 360 controller emulator like https://www.x360ce.com/. It has worked well enough with other games so far that it has dissuaded me from doing a chargeback.

My xbox one controller isn't working either. But I can start steam, add my gog game as non steam game to my library.
Configure this game for use with a normal gamepad in steam and start it within steam.

Never had to jump through hoops to get a new game running with my x-box one controller. Sometimes had problems with steam overlay. But this time it's reverse. I had to use the steam abilties to configure my controller.

Seems to be the same technic behind the Xbox 360 controller emulator and the steam configurations for different gamepads.

That's a bit strange - I didn't have to jump through any hoops for my xbox one controller to work.

Back from vacation, just retried it.

I do have the new x-box one controller with bluetooth support. But it is connected with an usb cable.

Can use the controller in the setup program of "trails of cold steel", but when the game starts there is no sign of a detected controller. Cannot start the game or move in the menues. If I start the game with the keyboard, I cannot move within the game with the controller.

Quit game, start steam, select the same game installation within steam (added as a non steam game within steam, with controller support), I can use the x-box one controller not only in the setup program but in the game too.

Not a perfect solution, but working. I have no problem with the first three games of this series. Can reproduce this behavior every time.

Yes, that's what I've got as well. Guess it's just one of those 'works on one pc, doesn't on another' things.
