Oh, to clarify about the Monster Data not having seemed to save, it came up on NeoGAF:

"As for the monster guide... yeah, unfortunately, it turns out there was a bit of a programming snafu. I don't know the exact details, but the gist is, the game WAS keeping track of monsters all this time... but every piece of information it recorded was being deleted moments later by a totally unrelated (and fairly camouflaged) piece of code that... I guess had something to do with error-correction?

Basically, the game saw unknown data being stored and was like, "hey, this isn't supposed to be here!"... but not in an obvious way, so it took the monster guide being implemented for Sara to be like, "hey, why's this thing blank?" and track down the problem.

Just another way Trails has been making Sara's life a programmer's nightmare. Old code, man... it can be killer. ;)

Either way, I'm really sorry for the trouble, and I hope no one was greatly inconvenienced by it. It was a fluke-y thing that we didn't expect, on top of all the other fluke-y things about this game that we didn't expect. (I'm so glad these are all showing up now, though, so we can iron them out before SC!)"

Unfortunate problems that come with dealing with ancient code, you just never know when something's gonna come up and bite you.

I guess the anxious ones of us will then have to get down and dirty to hex editing the savegames? It doesn't seem exactly hard for this game, there is no obfuscation of savegame data. Maybe even I will take a look when I have time. But already now, someone has probably already figured out the pattern to fill...
I'm suffering timed FPS drop after installing the latest(Bestiary) patch.

Every 20 or 30 minutes of gameplay, my FPS drops drastically for a few seconds.

Is anybody else having these?

Do I have to install the previous patch, released aprox. 3 days before the Bestiary? Or does the Bestiary patch already include it?

Thank you.

This may be a few days too late but the Bestiary patch should contain all of the previous patches. If you want to be on the safe side, you always have the option of downloading an updated installer with all of the previous patches integrated.

I can't say anything about FPS drops as I haven't looked for or noticed them.
And the save button in the config tool has finally been fixed with a new patch which includes patch notes. There is also a patch for font size configuration.

I'm looking forward to this update when it hits GOG. :)

Honestly, serious props to the amount of work that has gone into fixing bugs and making this version of the game the best it can be with the most customization options possible. At first I was considering getting SC for the PSP, but considering all of the work that has gone into making this PC version more and more stable (and more and more feature rich) as time goes on, I think I might just buy SC on GOG.com :)

[Actually, I might just buy it for both PC and PSP. ^^]

I really hope that this level of support will continue for all future XSEED PC games and that we'll see all past and future PC games by them here on GOG.com in the future! I just hope that in the future the ancient code isn't as hard for Sara to work with.
