Hi all,

We've uploaded a patch called "Monster Guide update" to your game shelves. This new patch contains the long-awaited Monster Guide along with a bevy of compatibility/stability fixes.

We've also updated but did not flag the main installer for the game to include every patch along with today's patch for those of you who prefer to have one completely updated installer per game :)

Thanks and have a nice day :)
Most excellent! :)
Finally! Thanks, XSeed & GOG. :D
Awesome!

I had been holding off on starting this game until it was "complete". Now, I can finally do so! Thanks a bunch, GOG and XSeed!

Side note: Anyone know if this also fixes the remaining non-HD art assets? Just curious.
Yes, yes, and yes! Couldn't be happier ^^ Seeing this patch should also mean that we are that much closer to seeing the Corpse Party PC version as well as Trails SC!

Kudos to everyone involved, and I'm sure that Sara will be very happy to hear the hopefully good feedback from this newest update! [EDIT: btw, the newest update only updates from 2.0.3.5 to 2.0.5.7 - if you installed the update from yesterday you'll have to do a fresh install]

The patch just before this one added the rest of the HD assets, so you should be golden in this regard :)

Very glad to hear that. Thanks!
Thanks for the update.

Unfortunately, it seems http://www.gog.com/forum/the_legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky/okay_im_confused_about_monster_guide_item/post2 was wrong about the save data recording which monsters I've fought already; I had to fight one just now to get anything but question marks to show up, and can't see a way of accessing pages prior to the current region.
You mean you can see monster pages, but certain stats are missing? That could be normal. As I recall, you need to fight a battle with the info-quartz equipped to get the complete pages. At least, that's how it used to be in the PSP version.
Monster Guide is accesible form the inventory but it's blank after patching. Was it supposed to contain the info on monster I already encountered (in the middle of chapter 1)? Monster info is added after the battle without any problems though.

A bummer, but at least it's in now.
Great news! I am pleasantly surprised.

The game was supposed to be recording the Monster metadata so that when the guide got added all of the encountered monsters would already be there, but it looks like you need to encounter those monsters after using the latest version to actually record the names in the book.

Oh, and for anyone wondering using the latest version of the installer does not affect your savedata in any way - I just re-downloaded the main installer and everything works wonderfully out of the box with my old saves. No need to start from scratch to be able to use the Monster Guide and all of the HD assets, unless you want to start a new game yourself to make sure you get all of those pesky monsters recorded in your Monster Guide.

Happy gaming everyone, the definitive version of Trails in the Sky is here! :)
This is the patch I've been waiting for. Thank you XSeed for making the monster guide available in the PC version and thank you GOG for providing the update! :)
Yaaaaaaaaaay so muuuch *--*
