JudasIscariot: How many of you with these errors switched to the Japanese voices? I googled some of those file names and the first thing that comes up is a thread about switching PSP voices :)
I had the errors and didn't change anything, no japanese voices, no messing around.

I uninstalled the game, re-installed the original installer, re-downloaded the latest patch, and it installed without problems. Game runs fine now and is patched.

VanishedOne: Aren't those the files replaced by the Japanese voices patch? If you had that applied, it might explain the error message.
You're absolutely right.

But I had to re-install it. I didn't made a backup of the original voices =//

I didn't played the game lately, awaiting for the monster guide :(
Hopefully the next planned patch comes soon (TM) - it'd be nice to have the Monster Guide in the PC version :)

Also, hopefully someone can back port the JPN voices from the PSP version into this PC version so that the JPN voice files actually match ALL of the ENG voices included in this game. It might never happen, but if it does I might just want to check out what the minimal JPN voices sound like in comparison to the ENG voices.
It's hard to tell if I should patch to the latest. It's sad that there aren't any update logs.

Before I update, I just want to check, will my saves be valid after I update? If I have to reinstall to apply the newest patch, I don't want to break 20 hours of play. I've not encountered any gamebreaking bugs (close to finishing in Ruan).

I also can't find the saves, so that I can back them up. I must be blind, or missing something, because I've checked pretty much everywhere.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

The saves are in %appdata%/FALCOM/ED6/ along with the configuration files. The saves seem to work fine after updating, or at least I haven't had any issues with them after updating.

I'm personally waiting for the next update before I start playing too far into the game. The PS3 assets are starting to work their way into the game as of the 18th. :)

The "Config.exe" tells you where the save folder is - it's in the base install folder if you didn't know it was there yet :)

I didn't know we were also getting HD assets added into the game - is there any other features/extras that are missing from this release to make it the definitive version now? Also, what do you think the probability of seeing cross platform saving would be?

As far as I know, the monster guide will be the only thing we will be missing once the HD assets are in place. It seems the HD assets broke some things so it might be a while before we see the update. As for cross platform saving, I wouldn't know.

I'm using the japanese voices (is easy, you only replace two files) and I played some hours, all works perfect.
Note: I'm using the previous "update patch" of GOG (patch_the_legend_of_heroes_trails_in_the_sky_2.0.1.3.exe), because the "last update patch" don't have "release notes", so I don't know how works this game with the last patch + japanese voices.

In my blog I posted about this game (spanish): http://bishoujolinux.gioscix.com/?p=335
My understanding is that steam had a large 20MB patch that improved resolution and a few other things; is there a time line for when we will get this patch ?

From my understanding XSEED is essentially using Steam as a testing ground for new patches/features in the game - since it looks like they ran into some problems with the most recent update, I'm pretty sure that update will take a while longer to get passed along to GOG.com. Hopefully it comes soon, but I'd be glad to wait for a patch here if it means there'll be less or no issues for the end user to deal with.
I know that; i'm just asking if anyone knows when this particular patch will reach gog.

Thanks to those who answered my question. I didn't even know there was a configuration program for this game. It just never crossed my mind.
Yea! the update I was waiting for is now live !
