It was probably clear from the context but just to make sure... level 40 thing is nerfing on purpose if you only import clearsave from FC. It is a bug in NG+ when you import both SC and FC clearsave.

The game automatically updated and wiped out my save for FC. That's really fucking cool.

I just tested it and Heaven's Eye works properly now, PRAISE THE LAWD finally!

a) set your Galaxy to disable automatic updates (it's both global option applied to newly installed games and each game can be set individually)
b) it's much more probable that the game just changed save game location with new version. I vaguely remember similar problem when I updated trails FC some time ago. Older version saved under c:/Users/<Profile>/Local, newer version under c:/Users/<Profile>/Roaming, or something similar. Just move your saves to a new location and you will see them again. When I get back to my gaming computer I will look what the actual save location is, unless someone beats me to it.

Edit: on win7 it is "C:\users\<username>\Saved Games\ED6", and the last update didn't move it, my saves load fine. Search for ED6 directory in your profile, and move it to correct location.

There was also an issue with Capanello (think I got his name right) not actually appearing during his introduction (there are even videos of this on YouTube). Does anyone know if this has been fixed?

I believe the GoG version is quite a few patches behind the steam version.
At least the bug loner82 mentioned in his thread definitely was fixed. As well as the chests-all-giving-the-same-message bug

I know that the patches here usually come in bulk but I wonder if we were just forgotten.
