In The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, when the boy telling his name, the screen can go black and the game seems to stop.
The opening should be playing. If it doesn't switch with ALT-TAB to the desktop.
In the taskbar there is a blue X - symbol for the xVid Configuration (Only available while playing a video).
Double-click on the X and a menu appear. Click on the option "compatibility Renderer" then "O.K."
Switch back to The Legend of Heroes, close it (ALT-F4) and restart the game.
