After defeating Gehenna's Gatekeeper (at the bottom of Grancel castle), I continued through dialogue with the Lord of Phantasm, and then the chapter finished. It switched to the black screen of entering a new chapter and just before I could save, the game crashed with a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error".

Never recall having any crashes like this in the first 2 games. Anyone experienced this crash? I will have to redo the boss battle (oh joy!) so I will try again tomorrow.

Running on a Windows 10 PC, strong hardware, etc.

I played the boss again today and was able to progress through to the next chapter. Disregard the post.

I did nothing different unfortunately. I just played the game's section again. For those who get this error, best bet is to just play through the same section again.
