I accepted the mushroom hunt quest but I never found the mushrooms that had been requested. I didn't realize that some of the quests were automatically cancelled if I took to long to complete them.

The other quests I failed was the Milch Main Road monster quest. I combed the Milch Main Road and I somehow missed this monster. I figured I would come back to it later but then the quest was marked as failed.

Does failing these two quests affect my reputation?

Right now I'm in Bose city and I'd rather not reload a much earlier save unless I have a good reason. I may have already saved over my save files from that time frame.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey :)

All the quests from the bulletin boards are side quests, so you can miss or fail them.

And yes, in the end it will affect your accumulated BP, of which I believe it means "Bracer points". You can consider them as "reputation", as they show how badass Bracer you are =P

So, I really recommend you to check the bulletin boards after every story/main plot events, as new side quests shows up frequently right after them.

Always check the side quests' terms. Long term side quests means that they aren't urgent, so you can delay them a bit. But mostly of the "monster hunt" quests are direct, which means you have to complete them right away.

You're able to unlock some extra stuff if you finish the game with max BP. Although, I'm not sure if BP are accumulated if you start a New Game+, I believe they aren't.

EDIT: Maybe you don't need max BP for extra rewards. I've read that you need enough BP to be Junior Bracer Rank 1 at least. Not sure if the rewards for being Rank 1 without reaching max BP will be exactly the same as max BP, though.

Honestly, it seems WAY too bothersome for me to try to get max BP. It does not only mean doing ALL the quests successfully, but also solving each quest in the best possible way (as you get bonus BP for good solutions). How are you supposed to even do that without a guide?
Also some quests fail so fast, you won't even get to a bracer guild in that time unless you completely go out of your way.

I dunno, it would just ruin all my fun if I tried to get max BP.

I'm not sure how to answer the actual question because I'm not sure what you mean with reputation. Having lower BP won't make people hate you or something. If you have less BP you only lose out on the "next bracer rank" bonuses and the bonus item you get in the second game when importing your save state from the first game with perfect BP.
The best way is to tackle the main quest only after you complete all of the optional quests. They're coloured differently in your Bracer Notebook. Since the game doesn't keep track of in-game time, the only way the plot moves forward is by completing the tasks from the main quest line.

By reputation I mean if I fail a mission for one person will it come to bite me later. Will I be less likely to receive quests not posted on the bracer board if I have failed mission? Based on the responses I have received it looks like the answer is no.

Thank you everyone for your responses. They cleared things up pretty well. I'm having a hard time picking the best response.

I do have two questions on another matter. I missed getting Carnelia: Chapter 3. Is there a cheat code or another way I can get it?

If I have already found the missing air liner have I missed my window to complete the Amberl Tower Mystery Quest?
No, the worst punishment you get for letting a mission expire is simply the money and bracer points you miss out on.

As for the Carnelia chapters: no. Beyond the first 2, which can be bought in Bose Market, all of them are permanently lost if you miss their tiny window of opportunity. That said, Estelle's and Joshua's ultimate weapons are only 10 points stronger than their second-best weapon and the game is easy enough to beat without getting one of them.
Also, keep in mind that there are some hidden side quests. Those won't be registered at Guilds' bulletin boards until you finish them. I figured it out in the worst possible way, I've just missed one =//

Good thing that I'll be playing it on Nightmare difficulty next time anyway. I think next time I'll use a walkthrough just as precaution.

Yes, I just missed a hidden quest in chapter one. Resisting the temptation to load an old save to do it (loosing 3 hours of gameplay in the meantime) was hard, since I'm a completist, but I succeeded. Barely ^^
