Any news on an updated patch? It's been a while since the last patch here and I'm sure Steam has seen a few. :)

Is XSeed taking into account misspelling reports from their customers and, again, fixing those misspellings as they are found?

If so, is there any trustworthy way to contact them about this issue, particularly?

This is for their store front, but this was the only contact info (in terms of an email) that I could find with a quick search. I'd just send them an email asking them what their policy is for this game - considering they're working on the next game in the series (among other titles) I doubt this is a priority, but I'm sure they'd like to hear from fans when they notice that kind of stuff.

Their twitter and Facebook pages also look like good place to ask about this if you really wanted to!

Here's a post from a random user on the Steam forums when someone asked about what was given in the latest Steam patch:

"The monster guide isn't implemented yet. Unless I missed a patch, this seems to have added the high-resolution versions of the menu character portraits, so they're nice and sharp now and fit with the rest of the updated artwork."

Looks like they also fixed some small bugs apparently too ^^

It's really too bad that XSEED doesn't do patch notes though.

If only I could give you more likes FlamingFirewire... However since I can't, I'll just say thank you.

As an off-topic sidenote-- I've seen on destructoid that SC might hit this year, have you heard any news?

Thanks for the kind words! As for SC, I haven't heard anything new since they last said they were targeting Winter this year for it's release. Nothing is in stone yet though, so I'd say we still have some waiting ahead of us ^^

Hi.

I remember I tried contacting them via 2 different e-mails. I'll need to confirm if I already sent to the one you've mentioned.

I had the idea of trying to reach them via Facebook, but there's no way to know if they read every messages or ignore most of them. As for the Twitter, I don't use it, so I don't even have an account.

I believe people take e-mails more seriously, who knows. Anyway, I didn't received any reply from them for days now.

About this: "The monster guide isn't implemented yet. Unless I missed a patch, this seems to have added the high-resolution versions of the menu character portraits, so they're nice and sharp now and fit with the rest of the updated artwork." I really would like to see that in GOG's release. Characters' portraits in status menu are kinda blurred :(

I'm not even close of being one of the fastest to finish the game, and even with my slow steps, the Monster Guide is even more late. I'm almost finishing the game and it's really sad to do it without having the Monster Guide throughout my first play.

Thank you very much for the info.

Best Regards.

Possible glitches I've found if you're playing with japanese voices:

1 - In Grand Arena. While watching the other Bracers fighting, you may hear random odd noises while they're fighting(not sure if this come from the japanese audios).

2 - In the final sequence, when you're fighting against the male boss from the final dungeon. There is an obvious glitch if you're playing with japanese audios. Every time you hit the boss, you will hear your characters moans from pain, instead of hearing the boss' moans.

Does anybody have a clue about a possible new patch? It took too long already.

I second that, it's been a pretty long while now since we've heard anything about a new patch - to get the beastiary at least.

From one of the developers on the Steam forums:

"1. The Monster Log is not in the game yet. If it was, you wouldn't have to ask.
2. I can look into an ETA, please note that GoG's patching system is a lot less open than Steam's, hence less frequent updates. "

1. Seems that developer should cut down on the coffee.
2. Because unlike Steam, GoG ensures that the patch works, the game runs and everything is ready to run.

Thanks for the quote, it just seems like there's nothing to tell. We know GoG updates slower, but by a week perhaps two. And no news whatsoever on the Monster Log.

Well, I'll wait patiently then. Nothing else to do. The game is playable, just feels incomplete (because it kinda is)

Well, it's incomplete according to the mentioned features in the game, but even as the game is right now it's still far more feature-rich than the Japanese PC version is at least.

Yet, I'm waiting on the Monster Log before buying it. Also, trying to clear a game or two from the backlog first.

Yes and those features mentioned also that this would be added soon after release. Didn't they?

True, but this delay was due to (1) receiving the required assets for the Bestiary later than expected (Falcom actually recently released a new game in the Trails franchise, part of the reason for delayed assets) and (2) encountering unexpected issues with re-programming a 10-year old game that was only designed to work on JPN computers, for a variety non-Japanese computers. Considering XSEED only has one PC programmer for all their PC titles right now, it makes sense as to why it'd take so much longer to get issues resolved and new features implemented.

It should be here by now based on the initial promise, but all we can do is wait until things get worked out. (Plus I don't think implementing Steam features into the game like Achievements helped to make this project any easier for their PC programmer).

Another thing I can thank Steam for. What a great and wonderful service! /s
