Atlantico: My old saves seem to work fine, but I see no difference in the character portraits. Just as pixelated as before.

The saves work with the patch, so there's no need to start over again. Just patch the game and continue where you left off.

FlamingFirewire: If you look at the config file and see that "High Res. Assets (WIP)" is checked off, that just means that you are not playing the game at high enough resolution for those assets to take place. Keeping mind that the new HD assets are from the PS3 remaster of the game, they might only work in the game at or past resolutions like 720p.

ShadowWulfe: Try different resolutions? I think I was using 1920x1080. They were pixellated before, but suddenly became really sharp after this patch.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I checked the config program and the HighRes Assets are checked, I'm playing the game at 1440p

That's a screenshot of my config program. Anything out of the ordinary there?

So I guess it's safe to apply this patch to the GOG version that existed during the first week of sale here on GOG? No save game incompatibility so far? What about potential conflicts with the Japanese languages patch?

There doesn't seem to be any different settings compared to what I'm using right now (with the exception of the resolution being higher in your case), The HD Assets from the PS3 version are only really the portraits and the menu buttons (https://forums.playfire.com/general-discussion/thread/114141), so it should look more like the bottom two images than the top two images from the above link with the latest GOG update.

Keep in mind though that XSEED are still patching some of this stuff in still, so I wouldn't be surprised if these new assets don't work for everyone in all cases until a little further down the road.

I updated from the first patch to this one and encountered no problems with save files since this newest update only changes what game assets the game is referring to and not much else - there haven't been any reported issues with saving yet, so you should be ok to update in that case (always backup the install and save folder if you're unsure).

As for conflicts with the JPN language patches, I don't know since I'm not using any third party patches for this game.

Thanks for the information FlamingFirewire, especially the comparison pictures. I'm sure the art is higher resolution, I guess I just didn't notice it ... I think the game distracts from any graphics anyway, the game is great :)

Even though I didn't notice the character portraits being higher res, I do feel the menu buttons are higher resolution now, so the portraits must be too. Thanks again!
I'm testing the last patch with the japanese voices and works perfect!. Even the save-states works with this new patch. Cool!
Thank goodness.

At this point I should know that if something works, don't fix it. I updated to the last patch and it basically broke my the game. I was worried that I might hit the end-game and hit a game-breaking bug. Yet after the update, I went from nothing to missing textures, disappearing items, automatically skipping text, and the map kept saying I was at krone pass.

I'll give this patch a shot, but I may end up just returning to my initial install without a patch.

I still love the game. It's unbelievable how you can watch the NPC's evolve throughout the game.

You updated from a "clean install"? Because I did it and works GREAT.

1º Uninstall the game
2º Re-install the game
3º, Apply last patch
4º Replace the files [ED6_DT1B.dat, ED6_DT1B.dir] for the beautiful japanese voice. (Sorry, but the English voices in this game are LAME).

Just tested it in two monitors including an old LCD monitor, HD assets also fully works over 1024x768.

For HD, I mean characters portraits(in dialogues) and buttons are now cool and sharper(in 800x600 only buttons will look sharper, not portraits). I couldn't find any other graphical enhancements even using 720p+ though(3D graphics are still the same). Maybe it's just me, but I'm wondering if the characters graphics are slightly better, or my mind is playing tricks on me.

But they still are working in the HD features so we should find more in the future. I hope they apply better portraits in characters status screen too.

Previous saved games and japanese language still works in this patch. I made a backup from the original voices, so I just pasted the original voices back, patched the game, and pasted the japanese ones again. Installed just fine and everything looks okay. Can't say if everything will run fine along the game as I've reached Chapter 3 but I won't be playing it until the Monster Guide is applied in-game :(

Regards.

So is the GOG version still missing feautures compared to the PS3 version. I hear mention of no bestiary?
Sorry if I misunderstood.

You heard right :(

I never played the PS3 port so I don't know about all the features missing.

Steam has released 10 update patches but I'm not sure if the missing features are only present in GOG's release nowadays. The last Steam patch was over 100 MBs, but maybe GOG is compiling more fixes in one patch(rather than just release Update 1, 2, 3, 4... for every bug) and higher compressing their releases so the patches won't be such big.

So is it a glitch that prevents people from accessing the bestiary? Ergo, is the bestiary in the gamedata?

The data for the bestiary is not in the game - it still needs to be implemented. The only things that are really "missing" from the game is the bestiary and some HD assets that were not included in the previous patch. Pretty much everything announced to be in this version of the game is there.

Yeah, because everyone will have the game function the same as yours. And, yes, I did perform a clean install. I even installed this new patch from scratch.

It fixed most of my issues, except the voices now mess up. If I hit that red button, then all my characters will forever copy whatever was said any time they do an action. So if Zane uses his special, then every time I attack with a character/use a spell, his voice-track will play. I did manage to finish the game, but my second time I'll just not install any update past the first patch.

Does anyone know if XSeed is fixing misspellings along with bugs, with every new released update patches?

I remember I'd found some misspellings along the game, and I just found another one in Grancel.

While Estelle and Joshua are talking with each other a little before spending their first night in Grancel(just after Zane's help with defeating the bees), Estelle says: "noRhing!"(it was supposed to be "noThing") to Joshua.

Is XSeed taking into account misspelling reports from their customers and, again, fixing those misspellings as they are found?

If so, is there any trustworthy way to contact them about this issue, particularly?

It would be my pleasure to point every misspelled dialogues if they accept to fix them(in my future replay of the game). If someone could help me contacting them, or even telling them about this misspell(if you're already in touch with them somehow), I would really appreciate it.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

EDIT: Another big misspelling. Estelle says: "shmampionship" when she is supposed to say "championship", right after reporting news from Nial(about the black folder intel) to the Guild in Grancel.
