Hello.

I run The Last Federation on a PC with Windows 7 (together with the DLCs Betrayed Hope and The Lost Technologies).

If I run the update the first time*, the 1/3 and 2/3 updates get completely downloaded, then the client shuts down (it might be possible that the 3/3 update gets downloaded faster than my computer can display it before shutting the client down).
After that the updater runs and shows me the result in the attached screenshot. The updater doesn't shut down on its own, but after a minute of no status updates, I assumed that it would be save to close it and start the game again.

However, the version number displayed is still 3.000 and the main menu still shows me the same prompt for updates.
When executed the second time, the game shows the same progress - but the updater only shows a black window (not even a logo).

After some research I tried to download and add the updates manually**, but that didn't seem to have any effect either.

Same problem here. I run it on a Mac.
I checked the mantis bug tracker at Arcen, and it looks like someone posted a similar problem (possibly even the same original poster) nearly a month ago, but with no resolution as yet.

I'm assuming you mean this* report. It wasn't written by me, although it reads pretty much the same (for obvious reasons). The bug is still only marked as "assigned" after a month, which is not really reassuring.

The easiest method of dealing with the issue would seem like updating the installers here on GOG. However I might not be able to see the full picture.

I'm having the same issue :T

EDIT:
okay so I downloaded and installed the updates manually like OP did, specifically lastfed.s3.amazonaws.com/TLF_3004.zip
then went into the game updated menu and told it to automatically download/install updates, it ran the updater, relaunched the game and now says I have version 3.004, i dunno how i can confirm this because i don't have a changelog for the updates but if someone else could try and see that would be awesome

This should be the easiest method to verify if you've got version 3.003 or higher: There should be a graphical button in the main menu that opens a window which tells you about the AI War II kickstarter.*

If I might ask, which operating system did you use?

Important update: At some point during the last 48 hours, The Last Federation as well as both DLCs (Betrayed Hope & The Lost Technologies) got their GOG version updated to 3.004.
