I tried the tutorial to learn again how the game works. In the tutorial it`s said that spells can be used by either clicking on the spell or by pressing the correct function key together with alt. But both methods don`t work and the tutorial keeps telling me to use one of that methods although they don`t work. So how can I use magic?
Or does magic not work in this version of the game? I don`t want to refund it, cause I love this game, I played it some 15 years ago.
But if magic doesn`t work, the game is unplayable!

As i remember first you need to drag spell to cast tab where it will be charged, and only charged spell can be casted as you mentioned.)

Tutorial is a little misleading. Just tried it now. After the spell is charged, click on the spell (or press the written Function key). When you see a golden shape underneath the spell icon, press SPACEBAR or TAB buttons to cast the spell. If you changed key bindings, they do not work in the tutorial, only in the main game.
Magic works, it's just little confusing.

You have "spellbook" - spells you know, on the right side of screen. Then you have spells that you are actively charging - the top row. You drag spells from your spellbook to the top bar to begin charging them (blue circle around them starts to fill up). After they are charged you have two options to cast:
- click them or press their hotkey (F12, F11, ...) to prime them, and then RMB on your target to cast them (or spacebar if you have your target in the green circle that seems to have a mind of it's own. The game is sorely missing "lock current target" function)
- ALT-click or ALT-hotkey them which will put them in "combo" queue (indicated by little number besides the spell)

Spells in combo will autoselect themselves as soon as any of them are charged, unless you manually selected different spell or ability. Sorcerer dragon seems to work fine with 4 spells in queue - freeze + 3 damage spells with short casting time. F12 is reserved for the lair buster and F7 for cleansing. Pick a monster, fly in range, up to 4x spacebar to neutralize and then destroy it, fly away to recharge and avoid retaliation from any nearby hostiles. F12 + RMB on a lair if I see a clear route to one.
