Hi. As the topic states, I - for reasons I cannot explain - selected the wrong graphics driver settings when I started the game. It lags like a nightmare (to the degree nightmares indeed do lag), and I'd like to reset it.
I've tried pretty much everything that makes sense in order to get that little window to pop up again, but I can't find it anywhere. Have you got any tips?
I've even tried uninstalling it and deleting keys in the regedit. That was probably a bad idea, but I haven't felt any differences anyway.
Hmm... well, it either kept that information in the registry or in a file in the folder-- when you uninstalled, did you delete the contents (if any) of the game's folder afterwards? Other than that, it must be some sneakily hidden registry key...
Everything I can think of can be set in-game, in the opening screen (button "graphics options" I believe).
With the exception of the graphics drivers, which you have to select before the game even runs for the first time. I'd be interested in seeing the solution to this, since I think it might be responsible for the highest resolution glitching on my machine.

As Calli states, everything but the drivers.
There must be some kind of *.ini-file or something which holds the settings, but I've looked through the most obvious ones with no luck. (That, and my German sucks.)
I searched through
Dear heavens, I feel like such a nitwit right now. The fix is actually pretty simple.
You just enter the Guild-folder, find the program called Europa1400Gold.exe (as opposed to the one called Europa1400Gold_TL.exe), and run that one, make a shortcut on your desktop if you like. Presto, problem solved!
Or at least I think so. :] Yay!
BTW what is the highest resolution supported?
I clearly think the Guild 1 is far better than Guild 2, and I am thinking about repurchasing just to have a "digital locker" copy.

Bit

Highest I can find is 1152x864.
The real solution is this:

1. Open regedit
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software
3. Delete the "Ahead Entertainment" Key and its subkeys (the folder)
4. Start game and choose again.
Every time I start the T&L one it uses the secondary monitor and every time I run the normal one it's on the primary monitor. There's no effect in which of the graphics card drivers I pick. :S Even if I disable the other monitor, run the T&L on the primary monitor and then enable the second monitor on second play time it uses the secondary monitor again. :/
