Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, for me this didn't work. The new installer made UAKM run like a slide show, stuttering all over the place. So I tried mucking around with the staging conf file and I probably made things worse. So, I reinstalled the game and left the glshader and staging conf file settings alone. Then I went into the game's dosboxtex3.conf file and changed the shader setting from tv2x forced to hq2x. That fixed it for me, runs like a charm. I haven't tried the other settings yet. I hope this helps others.
