In case the game crashes or freezes at a certain moment (examining things from inventory especially a certain diagram) download my following fix and extract all the files into the game directory.

Hi Marko, unfortunately it's not fully working yet. The game now asks for CD 4.

That is strange. It seems as if the game is not recognizing the CD images then. I tried it on my PC and it worked fine. Will just try it again.

Edit: Works fine for me. Have you really copied all the files from the archive - including the configuration file? Make sure you overwrite the old configuration file.

Could you please upload your save and tell me when exactly the game is asking for disc 4?

Hi Marko, eh... it's working now. I did something stupid. I unzipped your file, but didn't notice the files were in your German fix folder so when I unzipped it, all the files were still in you created folder. I got them out and put them in the game folder were they belong. Thank you very much for your patience and help. It gave me a bit of a headache, but I learned a lot :-)

Yay! I am so happy because I suggested my own fix to GOG Support (they have forwarded it to product team as they usually do in such cases) and if it should not have worked it would mean that there is no solution for the problem yet - meaning GOG would have to figure out the problem by themselves ... which can take a lot of time. Thank you for posting here again - it made my day and it also showed me that I am not too stupid to build such a fix. Happy gaming :)

Since GOG has fixed the issue with todays update I will delete the files. This thread has no meaning anymore :)

Hey Marko, that's great. I finished the game, but with so many endings I will definitely play it again very soon.

Yes, it is a great game and much worth replaying it. I am happy they fixed it quite fast and thank you again for your request since I would not even have known that it was broken if you would not have told me about it. So I was able to submit my bugfix to GOG and they implemented it (well, technically they did it a little bit different but basically it's the same fix).

I am just posting to say thanks to MarkoH01 for his efforts to help this problem get patched by GOG. I also like to use German versions of games to help practice my German ability (in fact it is a key point for me...I have intentionally not bought otherwise "good" games here when they are offered in English-only). A bug like this would have been infuriating to encounter close to the end. Thank you very much to MarkoH01 for diligently investigating and solving the problem, and to Voelkl-zh for discovering it...thanks to you, others of us can smoothly enjoy the game in German to the end.

Edit: oh...this is annoying to find after having posted the above, but...it seems that the bug still exists in the Mac German version. GOG has only patched the Windows version. :/ If still possible, can Marko (or anyone who has those original files in his fix) again post them for download please? Worst case, I can download the Windows version to extract them myself but that will be some work (and a lot of bandwidth).

And to whoever at GOG sees this...it has been half a year since the Windows version was patched. Could you please expedite the Mac version patch?
