When i click on the game on my Dell Inspiron 1525 Vista 32bit laptop -yeah, i know it's old but it plays my GoG games pretty much fine. Anyway, when i click on 'play' in my GOG Galaxy or even directly with it's DIR on the .exe The start button greys out and nothing happens. When i Ctrl,Alt,Del Its running in applications with 'Tex Murphy Overseer System Checker' It's not even like it's not responding, it just sits there indefinitely running.
Pandora works, and all other GoG old versions of Tex work; Killing Moon, mean street, martian.

Stumped?

Edit:
A bit more messing about in compatibility mode namely Win98 mode. This brought up the 'System Checker' screen -which i didn't know it was a screen before. Anyway, it highlighted media player as a red issue which i closed. It attempted to start, went to black screen and then crashed to a 'overseer has stopped working'...

Well it's clearly a GoG issue. i fortunately have a helluva lot of games on GoG in original format, but packed away and can't be bothered etc, etc.
i decided to dig out and install Tex Murphy Overseer -all 5discs- and i installed Disc 1. It crashed, but i enabled Win98/winMe mode, disable visual themes and disable display scaling on high DPI settings. This worked. I played through the first disc and inserted disc 2 and it continues also.
When i attempt the same settings on the GoG Overseer.exe it still crashes.....

GoG, can you take a look at this, please?

Well it's been quieter than i thought here, i expected a bit more help.. but hey,ho.

After a long day spent installing on different partitions and trying editing .ini files etc.

I finely sorted it. Many folks on other forums and searches generally on the web had mentioned DEP. I had tried turning on DEP for all progs except those i select -in other words,Overseer.exe. It didn't work. This is what people said to do
Sooo, i decided to Turn on DEP for essential progs and services only.. Tadaaa! It worked!! So i pat myself on my back and i'm off to play.

With that this topic is CLOSED.

I simply installed overseer from the standard exe file as I also found it didn't run under galaxy
