Please help. When the character naming prompt appears, I can't type anything. I can still rebind keys though.
I run 64-bit Gentoo Linux.
Any help would be appreaciated.

Hmmmm, could you try running the game from console and posting the output in this thread? Just to see if we can deduce something from it

Any news on this? I have one machine which exposes the same issue. The distro being used is more or less identical on 4 machines, but on one I cannot enter a name for the character.
It's a shame since it runs so much faster on Linux than on windows.

Be sure to not give us any info about these identical machines or run it from the terminal.

Gladly. Despite your sarcasm I was able to work around it. And as you requested, I will not tell you how.
Interestingly only the character screen has this "bug", on the multiplayer host screen I can enter ip address
and host name without issues, and the main game works quite flawlessly as well.

It was extreme wasn't it? Also, try rereading it. The request was for info (or lack thereof) about the machines you were running it on. Odd, well at any rate enjoy.
