Nirth: Speaking of Terraria 2, I wonder what they plan to actually add in that game. I'm likely going to get it at release but only to see how it is and support the creators but then wait probably a year or two before playing just like I did with Terraria, I never tried it prior to 1.1.
I know Redigit was entertaining the idea of making it 2.5D and have a near infinite world similar to Minecraft's
Hopefully they will fix this "load & die" bug. My character has a probability of 50% to show up drop dead, every time I load the game. No matter whether I'm using checkpoint(safehouse beds) or not. It's freaking annoying.

Really? I never heard of that bug before... What did you do before that started?

Are you sure you aren't spawning into a wall?
Slightly related, last night I found a GPS, which I read was either eliminated from the PC with the last update, or never there, yet they can be dug up. Hmmmm. Wonder if I can build it into my watch, which again is a 'no no' on the PC version, but so is having the GPS to begin with. Oh dear, I've gone cross-eyed.:P

I wonder if the Santa NPC is hiding in chest somewhere. :D

I don't recall the GPS ever being removed and according to the official wiki it's still a craftable hardmode item which you get by combining a gold/platinum watch, a depth meter, and a compass.

The only change is that one of the items used it making it, the depth meter, was changed from a craftable item to a item drop from cave bats.

THAT was what I found, the depth meter, sorry about that. :P Yeah, the wiki says you can no longer make a depth meter on the PC version.

Is the GPS worth having? Seems a little silly with the watch, depth meter, and map already in hand.

Not really anymore, unless you really need to have the accessory space

Darvond: Are you sure you aren't spawning into a wall?
I'm sorry for the delay. Yeah... I put a bed right next to a wall, then I realized a bit later that my char was indeed colliding with a solid structure when loaded, but it was not the wall itself.

My bed was right next to a wall on the 2nd floor, and right below there was a door. When loaded, my character was spawning together with the door. Almost every time I load the game, my character would just explode from the same coordinate as the door.

BUT, sometimes my character still is spawning dead(he just explodes) when I load into another worlds where I don't have a bed as checkpoint, as well. I think it's another bug, because my character is over 50 DEF and the original spawn points are slimes' fields only(they would never kill me that fast). I'm not sure, but I guess that sometimes the character is colliding with the Guide NPC, while spawning(both spawns to a same coordinate)...

If you've had that much trouble getting started, maybe you should try another world?

As I mentioned before in my previous post, I'm spawning dead on another worlds as well =/

My main world(where I do have a safehouse) is fixed already, I just moved the bed to another place.

Worlds of which I don't have a safehouse/bed are still troubling me, no matter whether it's a new world or not.
