I'm watching this playthrough as I start my own playthrough of the game:

https://youtu.be/1HuBQ4V4bUg?list=PLSlejFTVB3ksc9jIABBy2uuKkG7jVn2kU

That playthrough is done with the Co8 and Temple+ patches, while my game is using only the Temple+ patch.

I've noticed that in their playthrough everything appears easier than it is in my game, and that the person in that playthrough started with more gold than I did, and that their level 1 characters have higher stats than mine do.

For example, my decked-out (per what gear been available for purchase) level 1 human fighter has the following stats, while that player's level 1 half-orc fighter's stats are different by the amounts noted in paranthesis:

STR: 15 (+5)
DEX: 12 (+4)
CON: 14 (+4)
INT: 10 (+2)
WIS: 8 (+5)
CHA: 13 (-3)

HP: 12 (+2)
INITIATIVE: 1 (+2)
PRIMARY: 3 (+3)
SPEED: 30 (-20)

FORT: 4 (+2)
REF: 1 (+2)
WILL: -1 (+2)

I see. I didn't roll for my characters, I selected them from pre-made options.

My Wizard started with 6 HP and after levelling-up, the best roll I could get for it was 9 HP (I did it over a ton of times and never got higher than 9 HP).

I wonder if my party is going to be too weak for the game. Notably, my fighter and paladin have -3 and -4 modifiers (due to low Dex and AC penalty) on the Tumble skill. Since it takes 2 skill points to raise it by 1 level, it's unlikely I'll get to have a positive Tumble skill. And it seems important to have that.
If I just gave my ranger that specializes in archery the Rapid Shot feat at level 3, despite that characters specialized in archery get it automatically at level 2, does that mean I've thrown away a feat?

I just read this about the Rapid Shot feat:

http://www.gamebanshee.com/templeofelementalevil/feats.php
Rapid Shot [General]

You can use ranged weapons with exceptional speed.

Benefit: You can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon. The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack you make in that round (the extra one and the normal ones) takes a 2 penalty. You must use the full attack action to use this feat.

Special: A fighter may select Rapid Shot as one of his bonus feats.

A 2nd-level ranger who has chosen the archery combat style is treated as having Rapid Shot, even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light armor or no armor.
So, according to that, my ranger already had Rapid Shot, since level 2 when I chose the archery specialization. But then why was I able to select it from the feat list?

I don't have any save games from before I levelled up the ranger and chose the Rapid Shot feat. Does this mean I've just lost one feat?
