Hey! Just tried to install Toee, but Norton Internet Security 2011 removes the file named "toee.exe" claiming that its a know trojan. Does anyone else get this warning?

Firek (GOG.com):
The virus warnings are "false positives", please disregard them. For details, go or [url=http://www.gog.com/en/support/the_temple_of_elemental_evil/virus_detected_in_the_game_s_executable_false_positive_warning]here. :)

You could upload the file (if less than 20 meg) to http://www.virscan.org/ and have it scanned to see if any other utility reports an infection.

AVG also flags it as a trojan. I imagine it's because it sees the file as something similar, or simply doesn't recognize what type it is. AVG did the same to me with a recent FRAPS update.

Problem is that i cant get a hold of the file since Norton goes on and removes it the second its installed. Dont know if i want to turn off Norton while i install just to upload, just in case there would be something shady about the file.
I am using McAfee & have the same problem.

I allowed MSE access to it and uploaded it to Virustotal
Here is the report.

http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=81116da5e1bb9ef40502bd4ccd39ff8eecf3cc96970899dfe51324182abfc4f9-1286977616

A lot of trojan warnings, but also some of the well known scanners say its clean, like Avast and Kaspersky.

Also, the first scan of the exact same file was done in 2007. I'd say false positive.
Pretty sure when I was setting up my disc version of this game, the copy protection kept it from running properly, and I had to use a noCD .exe, which did the same thing (flagged in MSE) people are saying here.

I learned from researching on Google/Co8's forums that the virus flag warning was indeed happening to others, and most likely a false-positive, so I had to put the directory in a do not scan section in the options of MSE.

Who knows if that is the case here, but this all sounds familiar to me. Not saying GOG is running the same hack, but it'll probably get fixed soon enough I hope!
Same with MSE:

Gog needs to get here fast and fix this .. having same issues... wont even install on mine
McAfee is removing TOEE.EXE stating threat detected Generic.dx (Trojan).
Game installs and mcaffe removes the file straight away.
I uploaded It to Virscan and heres the results page.. http://www.virscan.org/report/027b55fa85ee531fe47784488473ba38.html

Scanner results : 33% Scanner(s) (12/36) found malware!

2 of them claim "W32/Trojan2.BTBK (Exact)"

Feels little suspicios to me... I guess I`ll wait for official comment on this one before trying to start the game... back to quarantine ToEE.exe
