Just started the spider quest. Lost two comrades in the first fight - they are dying but not dead, and my cleric is out of heal spells (all converted). They can't drink a healing potion.

I tried resting to get enough healing spells back, but the skeletons finished the rest of the party off. Is there some way to carry the bodies back to some place safe, or a temple for healing?

Have your cleric use the heal skill on the dying comrades. (Retry if you fail the skill checks)
OK, thanks. At this stage my cleric doesn't have enough healing power despite having Wis 17 and some points in Heal. Will just have to run earlier!
The game has wands&scrolls with healing spells too and it's always a nice idea to have one or two with your party for emergency situations.
It might have changed but depending from the difficulty you're playing at your cleric should start with a wand or a scroll.

Aside from this, the heal-skill would nor really help you, it stop's the bleeding but they would be still lying around until healed.
On the second floor of the church of st Cuthbert are some shelves with healing scrolls of various strengths. You can take them "for the greater good".

*Possible Spoiler*

Just don't use the Heal potion you find there.
Thanks for all the comments. Real Life (tm) has happened in the meant time.

I managed to chase off one spider with Fear and with some lucky rolls managed to take the other one down. By the time the first one came back i had spread out my group so that I could hit with all three melee characters.

That and an arrow from the Rogue and I came away virtually unscathed..
