adaliabooks: Ah. That's handy to know, I probably will put some more points into that then (I was mainly maxing out the STR & CON bonus one and the healing one, along with Thick Skin) and get better healing as the low level one you start with isn't much use when you have 900+ health and it only heals 100...
There is also an attachment for belts that you can craft that heals you every time you use a salve.

Did you use Saw Wheels?
I'm doing Exploration mode this time. I would like to be able to unlock stuff and see the ending, and I don't see it happening otherwise. Maybe I would die less if I never opened any of the vaults, but then that's no fun.

Finally unlocked Whitehoof. It's the only race that has stats compatible with Arcane Blade, so that's nice. Though I can definitely see the racial passive being geared toward trololol Sawbutcher tactics.

The strength and magic bonus aside, I think the Race/Whitehooves category works really well for my Gunslinger. You can get really fast by building up death momentum.

That sounds useful. I'll try put more points into the craft talents.

Yeah, I usually put a couple of levels in to it at the start and use it to escape encounters but it doesn't help much if you get confused/blinded/pinned etc or just go from doing fine to having 50hp left and being practically surrounded... you might get a couple of squares away but if anything has a ranged attack you go down fast..

Right. Confused/blinded/pinned are bad, but not the worst, because you can remove them with salves. Sleeping on the other hand is really horrible and I did only find one mage robe that had Lucid Dreamer and nothing with any resistances…

Frozen is pretty annoying too.
I tend to forget about being able to remove negative effects with salves and infusions.. I suppose it's easier with salves and injectors as you don't have to favour that over healing.

I might have to try a non tinker run again to make better use of the crafts (just choose a class with less useful generics) as raiding the emporium easily gives enough gold to buy the craft categories from the trainer.

Edit: Has anyone unlocked any more of the original classes yet?

Hit level 30 with a gunslinger, freed the orcs from the camp, then i entered the crystal forest. Whatever was in there, killed me 4 time in a row :( and to top it off the sunwall patrols crushed my last 2 life.

Anyway, these new classes seem far more powerful than the classic ones, I didn't really had a problem while doing the zones in the right order.

I unlocked the rogues. I think a new class tree is unlocked each time you free the prides, like the undead races in Dreadfell.

Yeah, I'm sure I've improved a little since I started the last campaign but the new classes seem really great (though I think the new races aren't up to much and don't particularly match with the classes)

Ah, haven't got that far yet. Might have to try an easier run or spam a Bulwark to try unlock some new stuff.

My latest character somehow managed to shoot himself to death... I'm assuming it was probably a bug (either that or I fired a few shots [multi shot artefact gun so 4 shots all together] and was so fast I walked into the path of the bullets and killed myself..)
I've attached the screenshot for your amusement :)

I think that's how it works. Unlocked Rogue's too. Went left, bottom, right, top in case it's based on first or last group you freed. Got good exp killing my kin too, heh...

It's funny how powerful these classes are though. Found the vault area and the Worm that Walks appears right next to me. Tried to hit me 6 or 8 times and between Evasive Shots and the Cog, only got me for 20 or 30 damage. And he was down to 60ish% health. I keep hearing how powerful he is so was kind of cool.

One more shot took him down. Was as easy as swatting away...a worm.

That's one thing I made sure to do different with my second Sawbutcher run. The class itself is super powerful, but without Rush it is a sitting duck to ranged classes. That talent was one of the first things I made sure to max out.

Late-game Whitehoof Arcane Blade is pretty crazy. But I played on Explorer, so I was able to safely clear all the vaults and get to level 50. The end of the game is probably very near.

Anyway, you get +10 STR and MAG just for investing 5 general points. Few classes can milk this as well as a 2H Arcane Blade. Now, there's a lot of trash talking about the 2H Arcane Blade, but I think most of those threads are three years old or so, and it feels like there have been some changes since then. I could be wrong, or it could be the race combination that does it.
I've had the game crash on me twice now in the last area. One time I got the "strobe light" effect similar to way back when there was a bug with the Defiler class using shielding runes.

Anyone else getting crashes at the end of the game?

No. It's been a very long time since the last crash on my computer.

I just unlocked the mage classes so I'm probably going to do a Whitehoof Alchemist run. I've tried the Arcane Blade (as it is a perfect fit) but I suck at being an Arcane Blade and I always die.

That being said I've also just unlocked the psyshot class and a test run in the arena shows it's a pretty awesome class; so I may do a run with that.

My last Sawbutcher run nearly won, I died in the very last dungeon (I think it was any way). I did back up a save before that though (mainly incase I died in an ambush to sunwall patrols) so I might try it again...
